The place is very clean and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We had continental breakfast which was served with fresh fruit and very nice. The building is however very old (1836) and not well maintained on the outside and the location is not really nice (Dover as such is not a loveley town either). Our room was very... More

Thank you for your comments. In regard to the room being outdated, it would be, as I explained to you, when I let it, it is 'The Victorian' room, deliberately left in character with the property, 1836. Not too sure about the building fascia, being in need of work, it was re-painted out of season. Agree with the statement, about... More

Charming B&B with sea views and very comfortable. Owners make you feel welcome and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into all the details. Great breakfast. Round the corner from the ferry terminal, less than 5 min walk. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed only one night as we were catching an early ferry and this has to be the most convenient location fior that. We were able to walk to the terminal even with a fair amount of luggage. Our room was quaint and cosy with a view of the white cliffs behind us, breakfast was a feast and ready for... More

I had the pleasure of staying here, on my return from Belgium, more through accident than design. I had a twin room at the back, and had a lovely, comfortable night's sleep-best of the whole trip. I am very sensitive to noise, but did not experience any during my stay. Robert was very pleasant and accomodating. I arrived late, in... More

The Loddington House is perfect for a quick ferry return, which is just perfect for me. I assumed the entrance was on the front but it's on the opposite side. My room, the victorian I think, brought back some memories of my bed when I was a kid. My bed had the springs as the base not in the mattress.... More

Stayed in a twin room for only one night. Without being pretentious or overbearing, the accommodation was more than adequate. The tariff was most reasonable and the Robert very approachable and obliging. The breakfast was superb and amongst the best we had during our three weeks away. The hotel is only 15 minutes walk from the city and we were... More

My friend and I stayed at Loddington house August 8, 9, 2012 before a cruise. When booking, I asked for a quiet room. Robert neglected to mention that it was on the fourth floor (no elevator). I would have planned my luggage differently if I had known. Also he did not mention that the seagulls on the cliffs behind our... More

Interesting comments!!! Hotel situated adjacent to the largest passenger port in Europe, elevated noise levels to be expected, one would surmise, also 'White Cliffs' of Dover behind establishment, so inevitably there will be Seagulls, there fledglings are in abundance, which in turn creates louder than usual noise levels. Our property is 1836 Regency Grade 2 listed, all information is listed... More

The hotel couldn't be closer to Dover Port but as it's on the main road if you are in a room on the front then it's noisy most of the time, the area is very tired and run down as opposed to other parts along the front which are quieter and better presented. The private parking is just two spaces... More

Unfortunately, due to the location, within 200 metres of the largest passenger port in Europe, there is to be expected, an issue with traffic flow; we have secondary glazing, which eliminates some of the noise levels. We have parking for 3 cars in the front and a lock-up garage at the rear, also negotiated parking shared with another hotel, 2... More

I stayed at the Loddington House Hotel for four nights as I explored, Dover, Kent and the southeast of England. I would rate this hotel very highly. The location is ideally located with the city centre, ferries or Dover Castle just minutes away by foot. The proprietor, Robert, is very friendly and especially helpful. He greeted me by name upon...
