The fisherbeck is a quality hotel in beautiful Ambleside, felt totally refreshed after this break..The hotel is clean and decor is well presented, rooms are comfortable .We would of prefered a front of hotel room but our booking was on late rooms, rooms limited at time of booking.Breakfast is great and sets you up for a great day, all served at... Well, believe it or not this Mediterranean weather continues with temperatures today of about 23C. I am almost hopeful of a summer which we haven't seen properly for some time. I suppose the advantage to the front facing rooms are the lovely views of Loughrigg Fell and towards the Langdale Pikes, but in warm weather the rear rooms can't be... More

Spent 4 nights and wished we could have booked more. Room was clean and comfortable facing to the rear. on 2nd floor no lift. Breakfast waitress served and of good quality. Staff friendly and helpful. no evening meals but only 5 minute walk to ferry terminal and several catering outlets. Free car park on site.

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to write your review. It is very much appreciated. We are indeed well located within Ambleside for both the lake and shops with a rather large number of eating establishments within an easy flat walk. Thank you again and we do hope you will think of us if you are planning... More

Great little place for a relaxing few days away. As everybody else says the breakfast is outstanding nice rooms aswell would definitely go back. The car park is a bit tight but it's not really an issue. And it's only a short walk into the town centre which is ideal.

Thank you very much indeed for writing your review, and yes when we are as full as we have been over these last few weeks the parking is a little tight. But we will always get everyone in and safely off the road. You certainly were fortunate to have benefited from this outstanding weather we have had recently. Long may... More

I booked a weekend break at The Fisherbeck due to the really good reports on Tripadvisor for Fri 17th to Sun 19th May 2013. I had not stopped in Ambleside before and my girlfriend and I were really impressed with how close the hotel was to the town centre. About a 5 min stroll, near but not right in there.... More

We only stayed here because we were let down at the last minute by The Log House which is opposite the Fisherbeck, the hotel is very nice and spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and efficient. We came for our wedding anniversary and on arrival there was a small bottle of bubble for us, a very nice and thoughtful touch.... More

Thank you so very much for taking the time to write your review and we are just pleased that we were able to accommodate you at the last minute. Actually we have regular guests who debate the front/back room issue as usually the rear rooms are rather quiet with just a very narrow, less used road behind us. But, much... More

My wife and I went on a one night trip to ambleside for a small get away. The Fisherbeck had an excellent price so we booked in. When we arrived, we were greeted with a free coffee. We then sat down for a cheese tray and refreshment, which was excellent. Having not ever been to Ambleside, we asked Raymond and... More
