We found this hotel after many years since our last visit to Cockermouth, to find it still has the same charm we remembered. Though we did not stop here we did eat and found the food to be excellent value and genuinely fine dining.

What a find.....One of the best hotels we have stayed in. All the staff made us feel very welcome.......To be able to sit next to a large open fire, with our pet pooch after dinning, was priceless... We stayed here in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, immaculate and full of character. The bed was comfortable and plenty big enough. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and found the staff friendly and welcoming. We will be back.
