Just returned from a 2 night stay here, slightly confused after reading the other reviews. I have to assume the reviewers either ate here but didn't stay, or we were allocated a particularly poor room. We didn't manage to eat an evening meal here, so cannot comment on food quality. Stayed here on the second night of a walk from Ravenglass to Ulverston (Although stayed here a year earlier when doing the Cumbria Way). Welcome very warm on both occasions. Stayed one night recently at the Church House Inn. Very warm welcome, especially for our dog, which was great. Nice old fashioned pub with real fire, real ale and locals to meet and have a chat.
