Olde World charm in abundance in this charming oak beamed low-ceilinged inn in the centre of Beatrix Potter world. Add to that excellent food, charming staff and a good selection of tasty ales and this is somewhere we'll definitely return to. More

Room was small, tired and dated decor, the bathroom was pokey (no bath) with damaged tile furniture broken away and the adhesive left on the wall as a lasting memorial. A tiny TV was conveniently mounted... More

We have stayed here a few times over the past 5 years, each time most enjoyable, great food, helpful staff and comfy if a little careworn rooms which never bothered us too much. We returned at the beginning of March to stay in the four poster room, a charming room with two window seats overlooking the front of the hotel... More
