Stayed over on a one night trip to the Lakes. Very nice hotel, the owner was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Comfortable rooms and great breakfast, would happily stay again and recommend to friends.

We spent the night here in early summer while visiting Kendal overnight. Found the owners very friendly. Both our rooms had all the facilities needed for a pelasant stay.The breakfast was lovely and fresh. Will be returning here hopefully next year.

We stayed at the Highgate Hotel on a cycling trip from Lands End to John O'Groats we were made to feel extremely welcome. This hotel is right in town with parking, so ideal for the business traveler and tourist. Although a little dated this does not detract from the very comfortable rooms which are clean and well furnished with en suites. This hotel, which has more of a B&B atmosphere, is situated right in the center of Kendal and has secure parking to the rear at no extra cost. The rooms are tight and can be noisy, but are nicely restored and carry the antique character of the building. The landlady was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast tasty and satisfying.

This hotel is in an old building which has been refurbished, close to the centre of town, and with the benefit of a car park at the rear. The room I had was clean and comfortable.
