Dawn and Ken really were very hospitable. They welcomed our family and took very good care of my 90 year old mum. The breakfasts were huge and varied, cooked to your taste. The rooms were big and beds so comfortable. We had the best view of Skiddaw, and it was so easy to walk into town. Having picked the B&B... More

Just popped up had got some time off to go walking for few days with other like minded soles and I found location of establishment is great close to town and not a long drive to Scarfell. Good welcome and shown around and left to get settled, found room comfortable in general. The owners were very flexible around their set... More

What can I say..this really is the best bed and breakfast ever. Wonderful rooms, comfy beds, huge fluffy bathsheets, and a little basket of toffees in the bedroom. Absolutely spotless. The breakfasts are truly wonderful; a lovely selection of fresh fruit which changed daily (melon kiwi strawberries raspberries etc) cereals, yogurts, decent coffee and the most magnificent cooked breakfast ever;... My husband and I have stayed here several times, we have never been disappointed once about anything, Dawn & Ken are so welcoming, nothing is any trouble, and the Breakfast, well what can I say, it sets you up for the day and more, excellent place to stay.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast in the summer of 2012 whilst undertaking a solo cycle trip from Land's End to John O'Groats. My wife had kindly booked the accommodation for me and said that they had been very obliging on the telephone. On arrival they very kindly thrust a beer into my hand and said that I deserved it.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently in the very spacious and clean family room with a double and twin bed. The location is terrific for walking to shops, restaurants and bus station, and also close to the lake and park. The breakfast was the very best of our 3 week trip in the UK. Be sure to have the... Just spent a very nice weekend in the Lake District apart from the weather. Can highly recommend this B & B. It is very clean, rooms very nice, comfortable beds, and best breakfast I have ever had at a B & B. If you are looking for good accommodation within easy walking distance of the town centre then you cannot... More

We stay here ever year and love it. Dawn and Ken are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Ken's breakfast is fantastic, just what every walker needs before they start their day. You can have as little or as much as you can handle. The rooms are spotless and comfortable.
