Official Description (provided by the hotel):: Pitcairn House is beautiful, old Victorian Guest House with a great reputation for providing excellent bed and breakfast facilities.It has an unmistakably warm, welcoming atmosphere. Originally built around 1872 from traditional lakeland stone it is conveniently situated within a 5 minute walk of Keswick town centre. All rooms are pleasantly decorated, comfortably furnished, centrally heated plus have flat screen TV, hospitality tray and hairdryers. The whole area is surrounded by stunning fell scenery, we are close to the shores of Derwentwater and the ever popular Theatre by the Lake is but a 10 minute stroll. Many of the famous Wainwright walks can be tackled direct from our front door plus many other places of interest and leisure are all nearby. Will definitely stay here again. Beautiful place to stay. Heather and Stephen are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the double en suite and the views from both windows are beautiful. Lovely finishing touches in the room and breakfast is very good. Would recommend to family and friends.

Very tidy, well presented rooms and indeed house...lovely welcome and treatment from owners Steve and Heather...no effort or request too great:-) Safe storage for bikes in the shed and excellent information on local activities / places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed stay!

It is extremely gratifying for us when guest appreciate our efforts and compliment us on the standard of our accommodation and service. Had a lovely Easter weekend stay at the Pitcairn B & B. Ideal location very close to the centre of Keswick. We Will definitely be returning again in the summer had a lovely weekend. The owners are lovely and make you feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean, the sweets in the bed was also a nice touch. The views on a morning from the room are amazing and would love to wake up to that every morning!!

Went for a weekends mountain biking at Whinlatter and Grizedale (which was a bit of a cockup with the Malcolm Wilson car rally !) Good location, couple of minutes walk into town.
