Stayed here bank hol weekend. Really easy to find, plus you get a parking permit godsend in windermere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, £5 lunch menu great lots of choices and big portions too. Room clean but small lovely bed could do with a bit of updating but fine enough. Its 1.5 miles to the lake good crowd on... More

Went for Sunday roast and the carvery was only £8 but the quality of the food was poor. The roast beef was chewy, the potatoes and veg were soggy and tasteless. The staff were however helpful and friendly but would have preferred decent food.

We only had a drink in this excellent bar, the atmosphere was good but the selection of real ales was excellent, you can see why it is CAMRA recommended. The Bar Maid gave advice about each and a little taster to check whether it suited your palate was a nice touch. Shame we only found it on our second night... More

We came here based on the recommendations on TripAdvisor. Lovely pub - looks like it has been refurbished recently. Was quite empty in the restaurant section, so the atmosphere was a bit quiet. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The food wasn't amazing to be honest, just average pub food (from the reviews I was expecting better than average).... More

We stopped at " The Elleray" on our way up to Fort William. When we arrived , we were greeted by friendly staff and were shown to our room. The bedroom was clean, warm, the bed was comfortable, hot running shower. We were informed that there was some work going on for the restaurant, In the morning there was plenty... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-February, We checked in late at about 10pm ish and there was no problem. The staff were fantastic as was the breakfast! The rooms were ideal as a base to explore from and the bar area was welcoming and had some great live music.

We stayed for 2 nights at the start of this month - we had my parents, my husbands parents with us so we occupied all three rooms. The owners of this hotel are so friendly and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The pub is lovely and such a warm place and was the perfect way to relax in... More

We stayed for a night in between two days walking and would recommend this hotel. Really close to the station and the tourist information office that meant we could easily get information on walks and leave our bags before catching train home. We didn't eat at the hotel but did enjoy a glass of wine in front on the roaring... More
