We stayed overnight at the Miller Howe whilst attending a wedding in the area, the first time I had used the hotel for accommodation although I have eaten there before. The location is outstanding with views over Lake Windermere, the staff were efficient and accommodating and breakfast was excellent. But I couldn't get over the impression that the hotel needs... We went for a lunch to start off our weekend and were not dissappointed. Having opted for the light lunch menu, my wife had a cheese souffle whilst I had breaded mackerel, she then had the sole fillet with shrimps whilst I had lamb rump. Everything was sheer perfection as was the chocolate pudding and the sticky toffee pudding. The... More

I stayed here with a couple of friends for a "girls trip". We each had our own rooms on the second floor of this old-fashioned hotel. Rooms are charming, and very homey. The beds had crisp white linens, and there were tea and cookies in each room. Everything was clean. We had a rate that included breakfast and dinner. We... More

We are regular visitors to this restaurant - the bathrooms are like something from a chic 70's movie but apart from that it is modern, stylish and elegant. Great food every time More

I have wanted to visit the Miller Howe ever since the time of John Tovey. So when the chance came to spend a Sunday night there, I was full of anticipation. We arrived at sunset at the end of a brilliant spring afternoon. The welcoming staff showed us staright to the terrace so that we could enjoy the gardens before... More

We have stayed in many hotels in the Lakes, but Miller Howe is certainly amongst the best. Rooms are clean and welcoming not over fussy which is great as it is a dog friendly hotel. Biggest bed I have ever slept in, fantastic white cotton bedding, great to snuggle down in after a fantastic dinner. We both felt very relaxed... More

First impressions of the hotel were lovely we went for my friends 30th as she was pregnant so decided afternoon tea would be lovely. The hotel was light and airey but the windows over looking the lake were all misty as they had blown(condenstion) which spoilt the view. They were pretty tight on the tea/coffee as there were 7 of... I love this hotel. We stayed for my husband's Birthday and as always it was a special experience. The staff at Miller Howe are knowledgable, friendly and professional, yet unobtrusive. It feels rather like staying in a private house, but without having to do any of the chores. Staying in a hotel should be effortless, and this definitely is. We... More

We also just spent one night here in Windermere room, which is a luxury lake view room. The hotel is dog friendly which is why we chose it. Unlike the previous reviewer, I did like the room decor. It is very much like staying in the bedroom of a family member in a friend's house, rather than a hotel guest... More

Just spent one night at Miller Howe - Windermere room on first floor. Beautiful view of the Lake. Room traditionally furnished, but whilst the style decoration would not be my personal choice, the room was perfectly adequate and offered all the amenities needed. Close to Bowness, but very peaceful. Not surprisingly, given that it was a Monday in the first... More
