As soon as we arrived at the Gilpin we were greeted like old friends coming to stay. We were made comfortable and had a glass of wine whilst our room was made ready. We originally were staying at the Lake House, but due to unforeseen circumstances were given one of the Garden Suites instead. The room was large, spacious and... More

My husband and I stayed at Gilpin Lodge for three nights for our honeymoon. We had a garden suite and could not fault it. It was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you needed. The hot-tub was a great little extra. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. The location is fantastic with a short... More

This was not our first visit and we will be back again. The hotel is outstanding and we have been going there for the past 15 years whether its a long weekend, sunday lunch or afternoon tea. The location means that getting into the Lakes is easy but the hotel and grounds are so relaxing and captivating that you often... More

We stayed here in February 2012 for a family birthday for two nights. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, the food was some of the best I have ever tasted! Would highly recommend it and would definately go back. More

I originally chose here as I wanted a quiet and relaxing finish to our trip and this place seemed to tick the required boxes. We were extremely pleased with our suite(Buttermere) the surroundings, decor and overall ambience, basically it is a quiet refined destination perfectly situated to explore the wonderful surrounding countryside.I found all the staff eager to please, courteous, friendly and seemingly happy which... Just returned from yet another wonderful stay at Gilpin - we had a garden suite this time dollywaggon pike, great room, hot tub and views - only worry was a small path in front of the suite that is actually a fire exit pathway and runs in front of this room so lots of unexpected spectators !!! as people walked... I booked 4 nights at the Gilpin Hotel for my husband's 50th Birthday. The hotel was impeccable, the staff were very attentive, friendly and personable, yet not stuffy or pretentious. Every detail was perfect. The breakfasts were worth getting out of the cozy beds for each morning. The deck and hot tub were something of heaven. Big roomy bathrooms with... More

My husband and I have just returned after an anniversary trip to Gilpin. We stayed in one of the hot tub Garden Suites, St Sunday Crag, which was amazing. It was wonderfully appointed, and spotlessly clean, so much so that it was hard to tear ourselves away from the suite to do some sightseeing!. We decided not to eat in... More

Following our wedding at we decided to have a short break at this hotel in their Garden Suites. The hotel was one of the friendliest we have stayed in and our every need was catered for. The food was delicious, the beds super comfy, the hot tub divine after a hard walk and the champagne yummy! Even the packed lunch... More
