Thanks to the very accommodating hosts and their family, we had a beautiful sojourn in Windermere. A small but prettily decorated ground floor twin room with good beds was an essential part of a successful holiday. Rocklea is in a good location for travelling round the lake and a short walk Bowness and Windermere towns. The bed and breakfast was clean and Ian was friendly and welcoming. Rocklea was clean, comfortable, welcoming. Ian and his wife couldn't do enough for us. Full of local knowledge to help us get the best from our stay.Great, as it had a ground floor room for a disabled member of our party, even arranged a wheelchair loan for us. Good hearty breakfast gave us a good start to the day.

Just had a lovely weekend, Rocklea was what it said on the box - a very good guest house in a great position between Windermere & Bowness. Ian was a great host. Extremely friendly and went out of his way to help us out.. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.. A small stream overlooked my window, providing the perfect view. A very surreal experience!

A great location. Leave the car and walk to either Windermere (5 mins) or Bowness (15mins). Nice comfy rooms, ideal for a getaway break, next to an idyllic babbling brook. Great location just few minutes walk to Windermere. Nicely decorated comfortable room overlooking stream. The sound of the water was so relaxing. Lynn and Ian were great hosts and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfast had good choice and was plentiful. We intend to return in the Autumn.
