We stayed here for one night mid-week in May. The hotel seems newly fitted and we were pleasantly surprised with the room. It is small but has everything you need as well as HD TV. A welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. There were some problems though.. the room was incredibly warm and we couldn't cool it down... More

Dear Sirs, We are of course always grateful for customer feedback. We will look into the issue relating to the temperature of the room however being a small inn built in 1890 does unfortunately have its issues, one of which is the properties structure. Dating back to 1890 and with much attached history does have its planning issues which most... More

I was asked to write a review about my experiences of staying at The old ship inn. I should explain to begin with that I have the wonderful honour of staying in around 10 to 11 different hotels on a monthly basis in my line of work. As you can then well imagine, you become somewhat of a hotel snob.... More

We stumbled across this lovely place when we were looking for something to eat before going to Hackney Empire. The entrance was hidden away but we decided to take a look. The staff were amazing. Although we hadnt booked and they were busy they found us a table and made us feel very welcome. We werent rushed at al. The... More

Really enjoyed our two day stay while working at an exhibition in Islington Design Centre. The main point for me is human staff rather than robotic which everyone else seems to do, they were very friendly and interested in your thoughts rather than going through the motions. We had a good chat with one of the cooks that had finished... More

For the cost of the room we found a great place to stay the room was big enough for me and my wife to get changed at the same time without getting under one another feet. the food was ok but the friendliness of the staff always makes a difference and really went that little bit further than i really... In London for training with 4 of my colleagues. We had a mixture of rooms types - singles and doubles. After reading the Hotels good reviews on a number of booking sites, our Company decided to book with them direct. Upon arrival we were greeted with a free drink then shown to our rooms. All the rooms were immaculately clean... More

I spent some time there last month because of business & wished I had not!! very cramped rooms, getting to them needed a head for hights up a narrow winding satircase, personally, I dont think this is suitable for a disabled or elderly person, the tv was another matter in trying to get the stations. as mentioned in previous reviews... Another hotel that makes an excellent first impression with a free cold drink on arrival after taking the tube from Kings Cross to Hackney Central. I was then shown to my room (family room) which I found well appointed with all I needed for a one night stay. TV was a challenge to work out with a mains switch hidden... More
