What are the good points? The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the shower is warm and works well (I have been to hotels where the temperature is variable during shower) and the TV has plenty of channels. I stayed in a single room, and it was facing the back. View is nothing to take photos about, but being... More

Just got back last night from a week-long trip to London where I stayed at the Rathbone Hotel. The hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly. My room was ready even though it was before the regular check-in time. The room was small compared to what I am used to in the US, but I expected that.... More

I do more than my share of London hotels and this is in the top half. Location is great round the corner from Goodge St and not much further to Tottenham Ct Rd. Good solid selection of pubs / restaurants locally where you get a 10% discount at some for staying at the Rathbone. Staff were helpful, breakfast a little... More

Chose this hotel based on location for a business trip. Was pleasantly surprised as many London hotels can be impersonal. The staff at Rathbone were very friendly and helpful, from check in to waiting staff. The room was fine - very clean with good quality sheets and towels and a good brand of toiletries. I had specified a quiet room... More

Good location, but very dated room, old fashioned, portable television like something from a museum,, and why bother with junior doubles they are terrible far too small, bed rock hard and very noisy outside due to broken window fastner , not worth the money we paid More

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I’m sorry if we did not exceed your expectations on this occasion. You may have read below that we are replacing all televisions throughout the hotel with HD LED flat screens as we recognised that some did not meet the required standard. Furthermore, previous reviews highlighted the importance of this for... More

This is ideal if you want to be in the centre of London with easy access to Oxford street . If you can get it through an agency or hotel site it comes in fairly cheaply for london hotels . If you want to eat breakfast here make sure you get a deal with this included. Paying on top is... More

I stayed in London overnight whilst I was down for a training course. I tried to stay near where my course was being held and my travel agent recommended the Rathbone Hotel. The pictures on its website looked reasonable and it claimed to be of 4 star standard. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong the hotel is... More

The Rathbone Hotel sits just north of Soho Square and Oxford Street. While it does not have any views of London' attractions, it is perfectly positioned for Soho, Covent Garden and is ten minutes from Leicester Square. The hotel is small but beautifully formed with excellent décor in the reception/lounge/bar area and the rooms themselves. The service was excellent and... More

My wife and I took a trip to London to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted a hotel which was convenient for the theatre, a 100 Club gig and Oxford Street's shopping. Last time we came down we stayed at The Berners, but this hotel was closed for renovation so we booked at the Rathbone. Now, it's not cheap -... More
