Just stayed at The Oast for two nights. Stayed in room 1, the shower cubicle in the en-suite was very small. It was a struggle to wash my hair without knocking my elbows. Room was very clean, however no tea and coffee facilities in the room. The room was also small. Lovely hosts, nice breakfast but would not stay again.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Oast guest house for 2 nights. We were attending a wedding at Hornby Laithe and hadn't arranged transport, as it was a bank holiday the local taxi company weren't operating but Martyn came to the rescue and gave us a lift. He even offered to pick us up later on, we would have... More

We cycled on the way of the roses and arrived to a lovely welcome from Helen. Our bikes were stored safely round the back of the house. The B&B was very clean and we had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. Breakfast next day was very good. All in all a relaxing place to stay.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed with Martyn and Helen when we travelled to Giggleswick for a wedding. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and very clean and Martyn even kindly offered to drop us at the wedding and pick us up at 12:30am!... More

Had two nights at the above, accommodation is excellent with en suite facilities. A marvelous choice of various Breakfasts with cereal and fresh fruit, freshly squeezed fruit juice and home made jams. all laid out very nicely. My favourite breakfast? Black Pudding and Manx Kipper Fish cake with fried egg on top. Fantastic. Not to everyone's taste but lots of choices... More

The home made food was outstanding at this unassuming B and B. Don't be put off by the rusting sign. It is much better than it looks from the outside. I have never had a nicer breakfast or one with as much input from the owner in terms of making it herself - muffins, smoothie, many different jams, as well... More

Thank you for your kind review. It is very complimentary to know that Helen's hard work is appreciated. You have however, caused me a slight dilemma in that should I sort out the rusty sign or leave it as a beacon to 'all that glitters is not gold'. Thank you once again for your kind words regards Martyn More

My wife and I stayed for one night on the 6th of October. Initially planning a 3 night stay to walk the Dales we met the worst September rain for 100 years and so cut short our visit. Fine room (No 5), well appointed and the lounge facilities were great. Great breakfast and helpful friendly advice.

Nice B&B on the Way of the Roses route. Great cakes on arrival and very good breakfasts. Fairly accommodating for cyclists. Owners try hard to accommodate requests. Could do with covered area to store bikes.

Thank you for your review regarding your stay on the Way of the Roses cycle route. We are pleased that you enjoyed the cakes and breakfast but still struggle with the concept of covered bike storage.
