We stayed at the Black Horse for two nights. Originally I rang and asked how much a room cost per night and was told £50. ( I had my iPad in front of me with the prices on) it said on the site that the rooms were £60. I said that I would book for the two nights, at which... More

Our favourite pub over our weekend at Easter in Whitby. Totally traditional serving a good selection of beers. Cosy atmosphere inside and very busy every night. Situated in the heart of the town, easily found when walking about. Well worth a visit.

Warm welcome for people and dogs alike. Simple place-friendly service-excellent 'bar tapas' (nuts and snacks in my world!!) and 'snuff' if that's your bag! We made do with Guinness, Thatchers and a bit of chilli pork pie-overall highly recommended-exactly as you'd expect a seaside pub to be!

Started off here on New years Eve...lovely beer, nice nibbles, good wine. Great atmosphere. A genuinely nice place. Bar staff were charming though it was NYE !!. Nice to see Spanish nibbles on the menu and cheeses from Yorkshire too.

Nice pub. Good ales. Was ok for a drink. Good pub rooms . Food seemed expensive. Like the fact they let dogs in. Seemed to be lots of friendly locals in. Good location in the centre of town. Would drink here if lived here.

This intimate, multi-roomed pub sits unassumingly on Whitby's famous cobbled Church Street and yet within this small space there is atmosphere aplenty wrapped in a cosy, welcoming warmth. With well kept real ale on offer too I really can't fault it. I haven't eaten there nor have I stayed in one of the rooms so I can't judge. But this... More

Just had another visit to Whitby which just had to include numerous visits to The Black Horse Inn. There is always a great selection of real ale available, along with a great range of flavoured ciders and larger. The locally sourced Pork Pies are first class & go really well with a pot of smoked chilli nuts & a pint.(or... More

Just come back from another Whitby trip, 1st time ever me and the wife have stopped in a pub, normally book into the same old B&B. What a brilliant place. Staff super friendly on arrival, then left us completely alone for the rest of the weekend. nothing worse than having to make idle chat with the host out of courtesy,... More
