The location is good, it's about 5 minutes walk to the main bus/train stations and about the same to the city centre. Cleanliness was excellent too, one of the cleanest hostels I've been to but without that sterile "hospital" feel YHAs tend to have. The beds were comfortable but a bit squeaky, not too bad though. Staff were organised and... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and found it very good! The staff member was very friendly and helpful as I arrived and the room, bathroom, kitchen and common area was very clean. It was a bit noisy at night however ear plugs were provided. There was also secure lockers to keep belongings safe and breakfast was provided each morning.... More

I stayed there because I wanted to see a friend of mine and visit this wonderful town. The place was very comfortable and I had advices when I had questions to ask to. The bed was very good despited the noise of a night club (but when you are veri tired, it doesn't matter). Moreover, the breakfast was good and... More

The location is great, clean shower and bathrooms and free Internet. The bad things : tiny lockers, just 2 showers, noisy club on the corner and they charge you 1 more pound if paying with credit card. Cheap but needs to improve. Go somewhere else. More

I stayed at the Central Backpackers in the female dorm. The dorms and beds are very comfortable and clean. The showering area is also very clean and well maintained. Central Backpackers is actually centrally located (2 mins from Gloucester Green). Its very close to all the shopping areas, colleges and restaurants. More

Starting with the good: Atmosphere and friendliness. Clean power showers. Free basic breakfast and self catering available with clean facilities. Sky TV on a large flat screen. Free internet access. Excellent location in the city centre and nearby a great indian daytime buffet. The Bad: On first appearances the place looked grotty. The photos seen online made the place look... More

I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night. The rooms were nice, but its above, or near a very noisy nightclub. We had to be up at 6am, the music had just stopped by then, a waste of time, and money ( we should have slept in the car!) I do not reccommend this place, AWFULL! More

Well, the Ritz it ain't, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable hostel in the heart of Oxford this is the one for you. Staff were very friendly, and the place is a good mix of real hostellers and backpackers who know exactly what to expect. Recommended. More

Easy to find, the hostel is situated close to both train and bus stations, but unfortunately also near one or two noisy bars (to sleep, earplugs are a must, like in any youth hostel). Early arrivals can leave their luggage in the office and use the premises (kitchen, living room, bathroom, and computers). Beds are allocated later in the afternoon.... More

Visited Oxford for an interview during the week. The hostel was great, quite quiet, with friendly and helpful people. The people are young, the atmosphere is relaxed and vibrant at the same time. As a solo traveller you quickly made contact with others visiting Oxford on their own. I was staying there for an interview at the university and met... More
