Although the frontage doesn't look that impressive- a glass door leading to a small staircase, the rooms are very good. At the top of the stairs is a small reception desk where one can check in. The hotel seems to have 10 rooms. I was in room 2. A smallish double room with an en suite shower room. The window... More

I cannot believe the negative reviews that complain of noise when they choose a hotel in a city centre!! For goodness sake!! This is my second visit to this lovely fledgling hotel. The owners/staff (I think a family concern) are delightful, the rooms spotless. There is no breakfast, but when you can nip over the road to the Four Candles... More

We chose Oxford for our girls weekend away as none of us had been there before. We booked the Bocardo, as the location was good and would enable us to explore the local area on foot. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly man who kindly helped with our bags. The rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller, but... More

The room was minuscule, excessively hot, poorly ventilated, and hugely overpriced. Paper thin walls, no breakfast, dusty teabags (seriously!), and noisy. The service was questionable bordering on rude. On balance I would say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid!

Stayed here with my wife for 1 night, looking to explore Oxford over a couple of day. Plus points on the accomodation - very good location, (plenty of bars & food places on the door step, 3-4 min walk to Ashmolean museum & other tourist musts close by) very comfy bed & generally clean room. Good Wifi available. Down sides... More

The Bocardo is situated right in the heart of Oxford which was brilliant. It is spotlessly clean and the service at reception is excellent. But beware steep stairs...although all luggage can be carried for you up and down the stairs. I would happily stay there on all my visits to Oxford.

Very central, and right next to the Park and Ride bus-stop so no problems with parking. Clean and well-maintained, with helpful staff. Rooms are relatively small, but quite adequate, and shower-room is good. No problems with temperature control in room. No eating or bar facilities, but a wide variety are within yards of the entrance so this is not an... More

Excellent location for all amenities. Room was nicely decorated and very clean. Reception staff was extremely helpful and professional. Would use again and recommend to others. The only negative, which is no reflection on the hotel, is that there is a lot of night time noise outside - nightclub opposite and theatre a couple of doors down.

The proximity of this hotel cannot be faulted. You are in the centre of Oxford and in every direction there is something to look at and do. The closeness to restaurants, pubs and cafes is perfect. We were going to eat at a restaurant a little further out of town but on a cold February evening the pull of 'Jamie's... More

I stayed here for one night. It's a good central location for Oxford. The staff were very friendly and top marks to them for customer service. However the room fell well below expectations for £105.00 (single occupancy). It was freezing cold. The only heating was the radiator and underfloor heating in the bathroom. One of the windows in the bedroom... More
