We stayed overnight at the Holt whilst attending a function there in the evening. We had been warned by other members of our group who had stayed the night before that the hotel was a bit 'Fawlty Towers'. I can only say that we found our room to be clean and of a good size, the bathroom was also immaculate... More

I've read some of the reviews here and wasn't particularly looking forward to the stay there as it was a four-day stay booked through the company on business. On arrival I found the hotel to be a very warm and welcoming place. The Hotel is a former 15th Century Inn and looks the part in a very isolated rural setting.... More

I booked a superior room at the Holt as we were staying for a charity ball and this was a little treat rather than driving home to where we live only a few miles away. The room was very spacious but also very cold - however as soon as i told the receptionist they immediately raced up with a heater... More

Horrible horrible place. Bed was Ok but room was dingy and need of refurbishment. Bar was adequate. Breakfast was deep fried in basins and rubbery. Staff are mainly eastern European and have reasonable English but not good with customers. Its on a crossroads in the middle of nowhere with no facilities so you need a car to escape for decent... Some lovely people organised this event in memory of my sister and a fellow villager. They have said how helpful the hotel was and bless they even gave charity ball attendees a discounted rate. i think this place offers good value for its normal rate. The welcome at reception was friendly and courteous and so were all the staff I... More

We had two twin rooms booked for a weekend function and were welcomed in a friendly manner. The disappointment was the general cindtion of the rooms themselves. Of adequate size the bathrooms were soely in need of upgrade. The "avocado" suite and dark tiling do nothing to lighten the mood and the lighting itself is sorely inadequate. The shower was... More

Front desk was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was built in 1470 and was a coaching inn. Beautiful gardens and nice welcoming bar/restaurant/ rest areas. The room we had (20) was small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was drab and in desperate need of a an update, all very 70's and poor lighting to do your make up.... More

We have just had the most fantastic weekend at this beautiful hotel. The setting was perfect. So full of character, we loved it the minute we walked in the door. The run up to the event was managed by The lovely Zdenka who was so efficient and reassuring. The day itself was a dream come true. The staff were amazing.... More

Upon pulling into the car park of this quaint looking hotel, I turned to my partner and commented how beautiful the building looked and how eagre I was to get checked in. The comment would not have been made had I have known what was coming. I will first of all state that not everything about this hotel is bad,... More
