My wife and I actually had a lovely wedding at Branksome last September. However, some of our guests (including my parents) did report that their rooms were tiny. However, immaterial as the place closed down in April 2012. More

We stayed at the Branksome last summer for my brother-in-law's wedding so thankfully we didn't need to stay in the hotel room for too long. Our room was not in the main building but in one of the stone buildings a short walk away from the hotel itself. The room was small although nicely decorated. The bathroom was disgusting and... More

We stayed after our friends' wedding. This hotel is NOT set up for weddings as there is a long walk (in darkness) back to the main house to use the toilets, which are down some steep stairs. Bit hit-and-miss as to what drinks are available too - immediately after the ceremony, the bar in the main house was opened but... More

We arrived late at night expecting the same standard of room as we have had in other De Vere hotels (usually fantastic), however, we were very disappointed as not only was the cramped room in a dilapidated out building, it also looked grotty and uncleaned. The receptionist was very apologetic and ensured us we would get a full refund as... More

A large group of us stayed here as we were attending a wedding in Chiddingfold. Upon arrival the theme/layout of the hotel appears to be.....bizarre! It is a nautical theme, with the levels of the hotel split. The rooms themselves vary, as do the price (by 50%). Many rooms are spacious, and others cramped. What they all had in common... More

Despte an earlier comment we found the hotel easily. We used the instructions on the website and it was signed from the road. The approach is up a long, winding driveway. The extension has a nautical theme as it was previously a naval college. Reception staff were welcoming. The room was just a standard double. It was clean - however... More

I booked this hotel on the Springtime offer on the De Vere website. I have previously stayed with this hotel chain at their Southampton and Oxford hotels. My previous experiences have been wonderful to say the least. I expected the same standard however I was disappointed for the following reasons - a) the room was dusty - the side table,... More

Whilst we were not sure what planet the architect was on when he designed the rear extension to the hotel - nautical was a ridiculous concept so far from the coast and a desecration of a lovely old building - our bedroom was clean, comfortable and a reasonable size. The shower room was small, but immaculate and unlike many hotels... More

Hilarious hotel. The building is falling apart. No road signage paid for anywhere en-route from Haslemere. The postcode on the invoice sends you somewhere completely different dead-end road. A drunken fat bride was somehow allowed to be roaming the reception area and when I ignored her interfering in my conversation she started screaming at me. The hotel staff had no... More

Just returned from a two night break and must say Branksome Place is looking shabby, although the grounds are kept lovely the exterior and rooms are beginning to look neglected. Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay here. Feedback such as yours is very important and I can certainly see how you went away feeling disappointed. There are certainly areas for improvement. I do hope this does not deter you from using De Vere Venues again in the future. More
