Stayed here for a night out in Newcastle. Can't fault the room. I was in a superior double complete with free standing roll top bath. Room itself was spacious and as you would expect, very well presented. My only gripe would be the location of the hotel. If your out on the drink in Newcastle it is a bit of... More

Stayed here through late rooms for a superior double for one night at £89 mid week. Thought this was good value compared to other city centre hotels but even better when we arrived and were told we had been upgraded free of charge to a deluxe double, brill! Reception staff were lovely and the room was gorgeous with a view... More

We had a two course lunch with Proseco for £15 each which was very good value. The service was good and the restaurant had a nice vibe. I enjoyed the food and the area is interesting with Victoria tunnel round the corner and stunning views of the Tyne. The nearby free trade pub is definitely worth a visit. Restaurant visit... More

A one night stop over in Newcastle and a very warm welcome from all the staff. The room was lovely although my husband thought the bath in the bedroom odd. when I explained it was meant to be romantic he was demused and not convinced. Worried about steam and condensation ha ha! We had a lovely balcony from our room... More

We'd booked via a website for restaurants catering for early evening meals pre concerts at the Sage. Obviously the hotel/restaurant does other activities. It was a pleasant evening so the mile walk from Manors Metro to the Bistro and the second mile along the Quayside to the Sage was fine for us but it would be too far in the... More

My husband and I first went to Hotel Du Vin for a wine tasting purchased through one 'Livingsocial' and we had such a brilliant experience we thought we would go back and have dinner one night. Well we weren't disappointed! I booked a table for 6 to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday using their website, it was for 7.45pm on... More

The hotel appears nice enough, and is very well kept in terms of cleanliness, but the service we received was absolutely appalling. Staff were unhelpful and downright arrogant. The prices were extortionate for food which wasn't the best.

The Du Vin is 'nicely nestled' a one mile trip to the East of Newcastle and is something different from the norm. From the outside it looks o.k. but is slightly quirky in a strange way, not what was expected. The usual suspects of rooms, restaurant and staff etc. are quite good, even classy compared to the boring run of... More

Beautiful hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of Newcastle's city centre and yet only a £5 cab ride away. We had a room on the top floor, with double height ceilings and exposed beams, and a gorgeous bathtub ob one side of the bedroom which was near a small window and had great views of the city and Gateshead....
