Just a short distance up from the Tyne Tunnel and surprisingly non-Travelodge in various ways - Menzies/Holiday Inn-type hotel in an earlier incarnation? Large lounge and restaurant, big rooms and baths but usual minimal 'comforts' so bring your own shampoo etc. The small panel radiator in my room struggled to keep the chilly north-east temperatures outside at bay - not... The only selling points of this hotel are location and price. It's the sort of place you spend as little time as possible in the room as there is really nothing nice about it. Some of the rooms are very large... But the TVs are tiny portables making it hard to watch from the bed. There are some drawers in... More

Conveniant location but very tired with heater hanging off wall. On our second day room wasnt serviced when we complained got given a couple of towels. Company sent us an e voucher but when we tried to use website and call centre would not accept so had to pay again. They do not give you a tel number for customer... More

We recently booked to stay at the Travelodge at Newcastle Silverlink. On arrival, we checked into our room which was bitterly cold. There were 2 large radiators in the room, neither of which were working any longer and had been replaced by one small electric wall heater. We asked to me moved to another room which they duly did, although... More

Just stayed at this Travelodge for four nights, although the staff were very pleasant and helpful, these problems were beyond their responsibilities. 1st the disabled lift was out of order, although there was a sign stating this and that staff were on hand to assist. On entering our room and attempting to unpack, all the drawers had been 'screwed' shut!... More

I booked this hotel for a short business trip, as it was the cheapest I could find at short notice. I was greeted by a member of staff after a short wait at reception. I checked in and went up to my first floor room. It was rather basic: 14" CRT TV with around 10 channels, desk/chair, dresser and bed.... More

Booked this travelodge as part of their sale offers - think we paid £12 for the room. Looks like the hotel used to be part of the Thistle Hotel chain and as a result the rooms are huge. Their could have been at least 3 double beds in our room and we still would have had loads of room to... More

I have spent in this hotel almost 5 months (what you are not doing for business ;). This what really appreciated is a gym with a swimming pool and sauna (separate operation but for hotel guests costs only £ 5. Hate breakfast (like with every TL). But across the road you can find McDonalds and Frankie and Berneys. If you... More

Decent hotel in terms of location, speed of wifi internet and cost! Ideal for Cobalt business park in newcastle with a short walk from most offices (Please check your own destination before making any decisions). Ask for a club room as they are the biggest rooms available on site. Decent meals and bar on site, friendly staff and once again the... More

Warm and clean and a great welcome and quick check in. Wifi free in bar area. Rooms could do with repainting and suprising black mould in silicon seal in corner of otherwise clean bathroom. Be aware that parties book in here at the weekends to go clubbing. Sports Club next door available for your use. It's on a business and... More
