Booked a Sunday special that included a meal and overnight stay. First impressions ...One customer at reception having problems booking in and a queue forming. Another receptionist appeared from the back who was not at all helpful. No explanation about meal times or where to go I was just handed room card and key, when I asked which way to bedrooms she... Thank you for your review and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed our facilities on the whole and your upgraded Buca di Beppo experience, but disappointed that you didn't receive our usual warm welcome at reception. The pub does get very busy during a football match, but there certainly should not have been any disturbance at night and... More

Thank you so much for your positive review of our facilities and staff, I'm glad you enjoyed the event - I can't be sure, but I'm guessing it may have been the Peter Kay Tribute Night, which is always a popular choice, as well as other events in our programme, such as Take That and ABBA. We hope to see... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay over the long weekend and to sum it up - save yourself the grief and book a premier inn instead! Arrived about 4pm on Friday afternoon to find the lobby very busy but had expected this given the holiday weekend and size of hotel, we must have gotten lucky as on arrival there... More

Thank you posting your review about the hotel, yet I am disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay and that we fell short of your expectations in a number of areas. With regards to noise in the corridors, we do have a strict policy to deal with this at night when reported to reception or the nights team. The... More

My wife and I stayed on Friday 4th May 2012 as a celebration night out.. Upon arrival there was a queue at reception and no staff to be seen. When we did check in, the female member of staff was just dis-interested in us but merely booked us in. We weren't told how to find our room, and when asked where... More

Thank you for posting your review, you have highlighted a few concerns which I have circulated to ensure we see some improvements, in particular the less than friendly welcome you received The branding of Village Hotels does mean that we are very different to many other hotel chains - very modern in our approach and the concept of Village is... I love staying here, but only for the rooms which are very nice, and very comfortable, but the restaurants are not what you expect from a decent hotel, the so called 'italian' is rubbish! The main hotel area is like a tube station, car park always full, due to the gym, so really it's just a money machine, and it... More

Thank you for your review. I'm pleased that you find our bedrooms to be comfortable but I am disappointed that you do not like our restaurant - it is a new concept to the UK and is a sister brand of Planet Hollywood in the US, so the food specification is designed to a high standard but I can appreciate... Thank you for posting your review, you have given us some points to work on to improve our level of service. We do act very quickly when noise is reported, especially at night although I'm glad you appreciate that sometimes this can be difficult when children are staying with us. Just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel, & although it was a mixed experience it was mostly OK - once again we wish there was a "good" rating, as it didn't really warrant a "very good" but "average" is a bit mean. 1st impressions weren't brilliant - reception was unmanned when we arrived & there was no... Thank you for your very detailed and balanced review following your visit to the hotel. Our decor is very modern and not always to everyone's taste, but I am glad you took advantage of our blackout curtains and made the most of our comfy memory foam beds, followed by a tasty breakfast. We booked a Sunday Sanctuary Spa Break for £72 each - fantastic value!! The carvery meal in the Italian restaurant was plentiful and yummy, some of the staff were better than others, but I think you get that everywhere. We stayed 3 nights bed and breakfast over Easter whilst visiting relatives. We got a good deal by internet booking but found the facilities far better than could be expected at £50 per room per night.
