Stayed at this hotel because it's reasonably cheap & close to the city centre, but that's all this hotel has going for it. Wen arriving at reception your met by the manager who's the most arrogant & disrespectful person I have ever come across you just don't feel welcome it's like he doesn't won't you there just intrested in taken... Price of rooms oakay paid around £30 a night not bad for a big city like Birmingham, but the attitude woz disgusting couldn't approach the manager and make any kind of conversation due to the arrogance and Wen having breakfast the attitude continues with yes wot do you wont!! Felt I had to review to balance the negative folk. Very well signed. (easy to find on busy road) Free parking. Lady on reception was very friendly and a mind of local information. As for the rooms, you pay for what you get. For central location in England's 2nd city it was very competitively priced. OK the decor was a... More

This hotel is awful! Paper thin walls, cramped rooms. The shower in my room didn't work, when I told the staff I was taken on a tour of the hotel. After testing 4 different showers we found one that worked. We weren't changed to this room but told to use the shower and lock the door when finished! My advice... More

Stayed here for one night in november. The room was very pink and flouncy, not my normal style but clean and serviceable and the staff were pleasant. We missed breakfast in the am but it smelt good. One negative i would mention is that we werent allowed to take the iron and board to the room and had to use... More

OK, let's see... large room, tiny bathroom, nice front desk staff, free parking and wi-fi. Room was a double and had both a double bed and a single bed, as well as worksurface, chair, etc. Furniture was likey updated in the late 90's, bathroom not updated since the 70's. Curtains needed re-hanging, old-school bedspreads and carpet, also not crazy about... More

The plus point is that a room was available, it was comparatively cheap, and the receptionist was cheerful and pleasant to deal with. The bad points are: Minimal heating in room, taps loose, light over bed not working, and the fire alarm went off at 5.15 a.m. No member of the hotel staff was present in the building so guests... My 83 year old mother is staying there alone for 3 nights, paid for bed and breakfast, when she came down for breakfast, dining room was locked with a note on door 'no breakfasr will be served 19th and 20th September.' She was not told anything when checked in on 18th! Now there is no staff to be seen, surprise, surprise.

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, because of the good prices and relative closeness to the city center... but this stay will be my last. At one point in the evening, another hotel guest got confused and thought my room was his...and his key WORKED IN THE LOCK!! He actually stepped in, apologized, and rushed... More
