We have previously used Travelodges throughout the UK and found they meet our requirements. However on a recent skiing trip we booked two rooms at the Birmingham Maypole Travelodge for the 5th April 2013 prior to flying from Birmingham airport the following morning. On arrival at the Travelodge at around midnight following a 5 hour drive we felt unable to... More

I booked this hotel as I was visiting the Gadget Show Live at the NEC with a few friends and didn’t want to drive the 3 hours home after a long day at the NEC. Got an e-mail from Travelodge on the 28th March to say this hotel is transferring to a “Best Western Metro” for our stay. The hotel... More

Reached here and they couldnt find my booking. Then they luckily got me room because someone happened to cancel. I then got a knock on my door while asleep at night. They told me they made an error and had to put me elsewhere as the person didnt cancel. They put me in a room someone else rejected. If it... More

We had a large booking under 3 separate names, totalling 5 bedrooms of various configurations (family, twin, etc). Upon arrival we were greeted by an unfriendly, poorly trained receptionist and her sidekick. We were given the keys to 2 bedrooms, only to be told that because of the transfer of ownership not all of the bookings had been transferred over... More

Stay was 31st March 2013. This was a terrible place to stay, worst Travelodge I ever stayed in. Should be closed for a makeover. Kettle very Stained and Dirty. Bed was made, bin emptied that was it. Nothing more, Nothing else Cleaned. Carpet even had crisp bits from former guest. Found out that currently undergoing management change. To be fair... More

Used as a base for exploring Warwick and Stratford which were not that far away to drive. Used the Tesco over the road to buy wine and porridge for the room as there was no bar/restaurant. Free parking with strong smell of fried chicken but this didn't enter the building. Subway nearby for getting lunches to take out with us... More

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this travel lodge had a wedding to attend in Solihull, with the reception in kings Heath. We didn't expect much with it been a travel lodge but this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Paid £77 for two nights which included early check inn. Parking -... More

The room was filthy. Stayed 5nights whilst on a course they came and made the bed but that was it. the sink, shower and work tops were not touched all week leaving toothpaste and coffee stains. The bed springs were digging in all night and wind was actually whistling through the vents in the window. Reception on one evening had... More

You know what you are getting when you book a Travelodge......however the Maypole Travelodge is poor even by Teir own low standards. The staff were friendly enough but the room was shabby and bleak, the bed mattress was terrible, it was so soft when I lay in the middle the corners were raised up! Booked it because it was cheap...
