A group of us stayed in the Norfolk Arms on a walking holiday, 12 in all. All were happy and nobody found cause for complaint. We were given a reasonable deal for the group as a block booking. The old part of the hotel, where my wife & I stayed had lovely big old rooms, very quiet & roomy. If... More

Stayed here as part of a road trip, and while it was fine, it simply didn't measure up to the other hotels (seven in all) that we stayed in. The property evoked memories of "Fawlty Towers" as it is desperately in need of an update. True, it's an old building - but other properties we stayed in didn't have peeling... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay - we do value both complimentary and less favourable reviews and take on board your observations. I have asked the team to be more aware of the haste at the end of meal times to give guests a more leisurely opportunity to finish their breakfasts and also to ensure... More

The centrally situated, beautiful building of character is only let down in its need for investment in more upto date fixtures and fittings. The plumbing can only be what i call dangerous to the unwary. If someone else nearby uses the plumbing in any way while you shower beware !!!!! . More

Thank you for commenting on your stay, I agree, we are a fabulous old Georgian Hotel, and it will be lovely when we have our refurb - so many old houses are spoilt with modernisation, but we are almost as we were over 200 years ago and some times we have to take the rough with the smooth. Arundel as... More

Having never been to Arundel I was pleasantly surprised at what wonderful place it was. I had done my normal research on trip advisor and went with an open mind. The hotel it self is a wonderful old building with some lovely features, but as said before is looking rather tired and could do with a good re-fit. Saying that... More

Good Evening, Thank you very much for staying with us and for taking the time to post a review - I am delighted to know that you found your room comfortable and you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry the bar was not open earlier enough, we should have offered drinks in the Lounge and I will remind the team... More

The Norfolk Arms Hotel is a paradox and difficult to rate. The centrally situated, beautiful historic building, with eclectic displays of interesting antiques and curios, is sadly let down by very tired fixtures and fittings. For example, the beautiful toiletries in the bathroom ill match the dated plumbing. The lovely public lounge - a beautiful large room - somehow comes... More

Good Evening, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our lovely old Georgian Hotel, which I agree, we do need investment and I am sure it will come in due course. Thank you also for your constructive feed back regarding service of afternoon teas and breakfast - I am sorry that we did not provide the afternoon... More

As reasonably new Arundel residents, we are still exploring - last night we walked across to the Norfolk Arms Hotel for a meal. Must be honest we were a little apprehensive (having read Reviews on this site), and thus didn't book a table (fully intended to 'cut-and-run' if initial experiences had been poor). Ordered wine at the (empty) bar and... More

The hotel is in the very centre of Arundel, a few steps from the castle and just a little further from the river. The public areas of the hotel are a little tired and the reception area does not give a great first impression but the rooms in the annex at the back of the hotel were perfectly clean and... More

Good Evening, Thank you for yoru review of the Norfolk Arms - I am pleased that you were comfortable. The main house dates back to 1785 and consequently the rooms, if a little quirky at times, do have loads more character than the Courtyard Rooms which were added in the early 1980's - though they are of course very quiet... We stayed at short notice for 1 night and were offered a standard room at 80 pounds which was your standard box style small room, but when I asked, I was shown a huge room with a massive bathroom for 20 pounds more, so we took this (room 7).which overlooked the back of the hotel. As others have said, the... More

Good Evening, Thank you for your lovely review of your recent stay - you had the honeymoon suite - which is a super big room and very comfortable - its a pity you could not stay longer. In many ways this hotel is a throw back to the 1970s, and it looks like it hasn't been redecorated since then either. Despite seeming dark and enclosed, it was clean enough and well located but my heart sank when I saw the room. It was just so tired, cheaply done and charmless. Far too expensive for what it is.... Good Evening, I am so sorry that you found the hotel dated, we are a lovely old Georgian Coaching Inn, and happily from some aspects, unspoilt! As with so many businesses we look forward to some investment, which we are sure will not remove the character of the Hotel. I am pleased you found the team helpful and friendly and... More

I stayed at this hotel in this charming town for a function at the end of February. The hotel centrally located (Arundel is so small thus everything is central, though), with ample free parking in the premises, which is very handy. Staff are friendly and efficient, yet the furnishing and decorations in the building are quite tired although it does... More

Good Morning, Thank you for choosing to stay with us in February, and for taking the time to comment on your visit - Arundel is indeed compact, so we make a very good central point for accommodation! I do hope that you will return to us in the future, the Courtyard rooms are always very quiet. Kind regards Elizabeth d'Apice... More
