I recently stayed at the Aitches for a mini break and would not stay again. The room was filthy, cobwebs, skirting boards thick with dirt, bathroom mouldy. Left before breakfast as didn't know what the state of the kitchen was considering the state of the room. More

We just spent Saturday night in the Charlotte room everything you needed was there and the bed was very comfortable. However the room needs a really really good cleaning and dusting. Cobwebs dust and dirt not been touched for quite some time, the shower tray was full of scum and the bathroom sink taps haven't been cleaned for a long... More

Just spent three nights at the Aitches with my husband and loved it. The owners are very helpful, and there's plenty of information on the area available. My husband loved having a chat with David in the mornings before we headed out for the day. The lounge room is comfortable, and I loved the fact that there was a bookcase... More

The guy is lovely and very helpfull. We would not stay again as the rooms have a very damp feeling and look so very tired. Breakfast was fine but the dining room was not clean. Its in a great spot for browsing Bronte country though... shame about the place really. More

We arrived earlier than expected so had to wait for the room to be readied. The basement room was clean, but did feel a bit dampish after three days of rainy weather. There was no noticeable mildew anywhere nor any odour of such. Breakfast was good, with a nice choice of options (more than one egg allowed compared to other... More

This very old house needs refurbishment and cleaning. We stayed in the basement room which was damp, dusty and smelled of mildew. The bathroom "closet" was not pleasant and the shower stall is outside the bathroom, open to the room, adding to the humid dampness. The proprietor is a very likable, kind man but the establishment needs a thorough stripping... More

We liked: We felt very welcome! Mr. Evens is very friendly and helpful. Beautiful house in a charming village Perfectly located Car park is just behind the house (public) Great breakfast We disliked: Location of the room - it is in the attic which can be reached via a rather narrow and steep set of stairs. For those who have... More

We first stayed at Aitches during our honeymoon in 2004 and returned again in the spring of 2008. We showed up both times with no reservations and were given wonderfully comfortable rooms. I was pregnant during our second visit, and the proprietors went out of their way to give us a room with a shower because my doctor had advised... More
