Cycling from Bristol to Salisbury through heavy showers, laden with panniers, this hotel was not only welcoming - very friendly staff - but very accommodating in our need to keep our bikes in our room as there's no garage. Our room was spacious and clean, there was a nice deep bath and endless hot water. For the price it was... More

I have stayed at the King's Arms twice with my wife, and both times we were with another couple. By this, I was able to see 2 different rooms. This is a quirky old hotel with crooked staircases, doors and hallways. A fun place to stay and I would recommend it. Don't expect 4 star treatment or rooms but a... More

We were intrigued to see what a Wetherspoons hotel would be like so decided to give the Kings Arms Hotel a try for two nights whilst visiting Salisbury. We're experienced travellers that have stayed in a lot of different hotels across Europe and the Middle East so have realistic expectations. The "look" of the hotel is exactly as it is... More

Location good but the first room we were given was freezing - it transpired the plumbing had failed recently and been repaired. They obviously didn't think to check before putting guests in the room. To their credit they were very happy to move us to a different (and better) room with no problems or extra cost. Both rooms were clean... More

Lots of history behind this hotel. Thats the best part besides the friendly staff. Other than that I can't say much for it. The shower in the bathroom leaked the entire time we were there. Wasn't the cleanest and not for the light hearted. I think it is changing owners and hopefully they will make the necessary improvements. Good location.... More

We stayed in their flagship King Charles I room and were really impressed by the room and it's furnishings. The building is a romantic historical building in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately you will pay far far too much to stay in a hotel with poor facilities and a terrible cleaning habits. The dead fly... More

We stayed for 1 night in room 14 which was at the top of the main building. We arrived at 1.40pm, not intending to check in but to park the car, as we had already contacted the hotel regarding this. We were told straight away that we couldn’t check in as there was still 20mins to go! But parked the... More

There is absolutely nothing to recommend this place: really basic breakfast, room felt old with a frayed carpet and patches on the ceiling, there were odd little signs around the room about what you can/can't do which made you feel like you were in a suspicious juvenile detention centre rather than a welcoming hotel, service was ok from some but... Just got back from a lovely romantic mini break in The Kings Arms Hotel, Salisbury. The location was perfect, very central for shops, restaurants and the beautiful cathedral. We stayed in a four poster room where rumour states that hundreds of years ago King Charles II stayed! A quirky, irregular sloping and winding staircase lead to the large, oak panelled... More

We chose the Kings Arms for location and historic charm. To be fair, the location (just outside the St. Ann's entrance to the Cathedral close) is very convenient, and the building (the main building) is clearly historic. Unfortunately there is little charm to be found in the dingy poorly maintained establishment. The room we were given was in "the annex"... More
