We have stayed here a few times over recent years and some expensive and much needed refurbishing has taken place. The staff are friendly and genuinely helpful and the location is un beatable, on the banks of the river Severn. The freshly cooked breakfast was excellent. A bit more attention to detail by management would not come amiss. Our favourite... More

I saw the reviews on this hotel regarding the dated, tired and not so clean rooms, and yes i agree, but the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was fresh, tasty and to a very high standard. Laura serviced us with Sunday lunch and with out breakfast and nothing was to much trouble for her. We stayed in... More

We have stayed here before and asked specifically to be in the modern annex - I believe it was a new addition about 6/7 years ago. Rooms have doors that open onto the grass and a lovely view of the river. Room was well appointed and the bathroom modern - with a bath (excellent!) as well as an over-shower. Breakfast... More

We were in Worcester for a family wedding at the Cathedral and were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing night's stay at this hotel. Be warned! Room 16, in the new annexe, is on the ground floor and directly opposite the entrance to the function suite and the toilets. So if, as happened to us, there is a disco... More

My partner and I were not disappointed with any aspect of this fine hotel. The three days we spent there were enjoyable and relaxing. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere of restrained elegance and period charm. The staff were helpful and courteous of manner and the facilities excellent. The location next to the River Severn is a bonus of course and the final... On Thursday 12th April, we called in tor a lunchtime meal in the conservatory restaurant. We spoke to the waitress about the lunchtime menu and mentioned that we would have preferred to have had a couple of dishes from the evening menu. She spoke to the chef who was happy to cook the dishes for us.Both dishes were wonderfully cooked... More

My wife + myself stayed here to visit my son, first time at this hotel but it all seemed very nice. Room was in the new annex and was ok, very clean and quiet. We did not have an evening meal here but the breakfast was fine. we paid £120 for the room and like other reviewers felt we could... More

I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions because it is a charming retreat. However, the standard of the food really let's the side down. Dinner was tasteless and the full breakfast was clearly cooked then kept hot resulting in rubbery fried eggs, (even though scrambled had been ordered), discoloured bacon which looked decidedly unappetising, (perhaps cooked in the... We can only apologise if on this occasion our food didn't match our normally high standards. We would strees that if guests can make their feelings known at the time we will do everything possible to rectify any problems. We do have an ongoing refurbisment programme but we ensure this does not impact on our guests. Our housekeeper inspects the... More

The location is very good and its a nice area near the canal, however for the £120 we paid for 1 night i expected better, the rooms were fine if not a little aged and a little small, the bathroom was modern but smelt bad upon arrival. The bed was very comfortable and the TV was LCD with all freeview... More

We can only apologise for the problems with the credit card. We have now changed the procedure to ensure this doesn't happen again. We do have a range of rooms at different rates that all include full English breakfast and free parking and Wi Fi. Our breakfast are we feel very generous but we are happy to provide extra portions... More

Enjoyed a really nice Christmas lunch, the eighth year we have done so and it was interesting to compare the year to year differencies. We had a nice table overlooking the river in the conservatory and the food and service were excellent. Would have been nice to have had the previous years senior citizens rates, but overall a reasonably priced... More
