We stayed for 4 nights over Easter 2012. The room was dated but clean, the staff friendly and the food, both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, excellent. It was very busy (Easter) and so necessary to book a table. We did not eat in the bar, but the bar meals also looked good. Good real ale as well. We... More

I have eaten at the Pont y Pair on numerous occasions and decided to book a table in the bar for a family Sunday Roast. I phoned mid-week and booked a specific table by the window as one of our group is quite claustrophobic and I knew she would be more relaxed near the window. I confirmed the booking again... More

Popped in on Friday evening, 02 Dec 2011. Had a wonderfully flavoursome 16 oz rump steak. There was a good vibe to the place and the staff were friendly and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening at this good old fashioned pub / hotel. More

We had a one night stay at the Pont y pair hotel 15th August and although the food was excellent and I highly recommend the chicken in bacon and garlic, our room (no 10) wasn't a £70 a night room. The furniture was very dated and the ensuite extremely small. There was 'all sorts' behind the radiator including a previous... More

8 of us did the 3 Peaks Challenge over the week-end, finishing with Snowdon. We realised we were going to finish the last mountain late and called the hotel to ask to put some food aside for us. They kindly accepted and when we finally arrived at 23h, they had kept the kitchen open and had a great meal prepared... More

We stayed at the Pont-y-Pair Hotel during a weekend hillwalking trip to North Wales, and booked in for 2 nights. Criteria-wise, we chose Pont-y-Pair as it’s a mix of hotel/traditional pub, located near the centre of Betws-y-Coed, and the cheap rate (£30/pppn B&B). Due to the time of year, we managed to secure one of the couple of parking places... More
