Yet to find anywhere as good in Cardiff. Pub is cosy and friendly. Walker friendly Food is delicious and plentiful (which as a walker I like a good plateful, with extra veg if wanted) Roast beef is £12, but is cooked to ones liking, always had it rare and melt I'm the mouth. Desserts are homemade and yummy too

I am not going to repeat every good thing that has been said before, it is exactly as previously written. The Landlady was around ALL of the time making sure everyone was being served and happy. A great selection for Breakfast, fresh fruit was really a nice touch. Local produce cooked to order, not sitting under a heat lamp and... More

Really fabulous stay in welcoming, comfortable ,warm room with delicious food and excellent selection of real ales and wines. Staff and proprietors were most helpful ,cheerful and nothing too much trouble ,service at 100%, Maggie's breakfasts will long be remembered for their deliciousness .We ate in the restaurant everyday and we were not disappointed at any time. Selfish I know and impossible anyway but this inn is so good I never want to find it is full and I cannot get in. Owned by a lady with lots of experience (it shows) and a chef who not only produces lovely food but knows the wines as well. Whether just the two of us or a party of... More

My wife and I eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. The Sunday lunch is absolutely superb (especially the beef) and the a la carte dinner menu and is always superb quality with a great wine list as well as some great specials. I have not had a better steak in cardiff. The staff are friendly, attentive and all... More

Four of us had Sunday lunch at this rustic pub over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice selection of meats served with fresh vegetables and all the trimmings. Good range of starters & desserts available too, together with chef's specials. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Visit between Christmas an New Year, a little busy but not packed. Food above average for a pub, steak good quality and cooked as requested, steak pie good. Not huge choice but good homemade quality, also 2 or 3 choices on the specials board. Decent selection of drinks. The old cellar a little cold but the main pub snug. It... More

It is a nice traditional pub on the side of the Garth mountain and as mentioned previously, parking can be very difficult because of the narrow road leading to the pub. We had a meal recently - chicken wrapped in bacon with fries and vegetables. The chicken arrived on a large white plate with what looked like two thin slices... More

It's a gem of a find best to leave the car at home and enjoy good food and fine wines. Location is perfect hidden away in a tiny village and to make it even better they also do bed and breakfast! Large first floor restaurant using local produce and downstairs a snug lounge where you can buy fresh rolls and... More

tucked away in a little village on the outskirts of Cardiff is this lovely, friendly pub that has a large range of real ales, great food and brilliant staff. Pity it isn't nearby as I would spend a lot more time there.
