Had a one night stay unusual location but fairly large room comfortable and well equipped. Good selection of teas and coffees. We had a very enjoyable breakfast cooked to order (really enjoyed the mushrooms). The staff were friendly and the owner was very attentive and welcoming. There is a very comfortable guest lounge. We had a meal in the evening... More

Apologies for the late posting. Stayed for one night, good price, easy to find and free car parking. Room, clean functional and warm. Breakfast cooked to order using local produce, liked the tea! First class staff. More

Where do I start - The room was tiny, there wasn't even a desk big enough to put a laptop. Apart from one old wardrobe and small tatty old dresser unit, there was nowhere to put clothes. The bed was uncomfortable, far too soft. Although an internet modem in the room was advertised, this was a dial-up modem, hardly useable... More

Set on a hill that the M4 goes under this is a very good place to stay for the night. It is surrounded by houses and is modern and very dog friendly. The owners live on site and nothing is too much trouble. The main door is locked at night but if you ring the bell thay will come and... More

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. We are staying here quite regularly due to work in the area and it is always a good stay. The staff are excellent, very friendly and they look after us brilliantly. The food (both breakfast and dinner) is amazing and even as a fussy eater there is always plenty of choice.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights when we were watching the Wales Open Golf at Celtic Manor. Don't be put off by the "Travelodge" exterior as the interior is quite cosy and more olde-worldy. Located in a residential area just off the M4 but there's no noise from the motorway if you close the window. I slept well and, believe... More

We recently celebrated our Wedding at the Lodge, all the staff were more than accomadating throughtout the weekend, we were made welcome from the moment we walked in until the minute we left. Everything was set to the highest of standards anyone could possibly expect, and food was fantastic from Breakfast to the Wedding Menu to the evening buffet we... More

Located just off the M4 motorway in a residential area in the northern outskirts of Newport, the Newport Lodge Hotel is far better than its deeply unexciting Travelodge-esque frontage might lead you to believe. It's easy to get to by car but, I suspect, a little more difficult by public transport. In my experience the staff were pleasant and helpful,... More

I stayed in the Newport Lodge Hotel for 2 month and was always made to feel welcome. The hotel offers a fantastic range of rooms from Executive doubles to sweet bright single rooms. I stayed in a single room over looking the motorway which did not disturb me at all as the windows are so thick. The hotel is just... More

I stayed at the Newport Lodge for two nights. The hotel is located out of the centre of Newport, next to the M4, so it's perfect as a 'basecamp' for work in various places around Newport. The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. (English) breakfast is perfect, and diner in the evening is also very good. The rooms... More
