I along with my family, ten of us altogether had lunch today in the Kinloch Arms Hotel in Carnoustie. It has been a few years since we were last here and we were all very pleasantly surprised. Looks like the hotel has been refurbished recently and it was nice sitting in lovely surroundings. The food was excellent and reasonably priced... More

Very happy with this hotel - comfortable, clean room; lively crowd in the bar; a bartender who was very helpful (I didn't have a UK charger for my BlackBerry and he managed to find one to lend me for long enough to get back in touch with the world); and a nice restaurant. I've never been a fan of high... More

Had a meal with friends in the restaurant in the Kinloch Arms just before Christmas and couldn't understand why it was so quiet. We had an excellent meal served in attractive surroundings, with a warm, friendly ambience. Food was great, portions generous and service excellent. The owner is making a real effort to deliver a quality product and in my... More

Needed to book accommodation at very short notice so did a quick internet search. Kinloch Arms was in the right area so there wasn't really an alternative. I had to check in late and there was no problem. Room was warm, comfortable, clean & quiet. In the mornings breakfast was flexible in terms of time and was good quality and... More

We've used this hotel a few times for overnight stays when in the area. Not much has changed from our first visit to our last, recent stay. The bedrooms are well in need of a refurb but, we've always found them comfortable. There have always been toiletries in the bathroom which can be handy, along with the needful kettle, biscuits,... Very friendly staff, very accommodating with the children in family room. Ironing board, hairdryer, tea making etc all in room. For those not familiar with Carnoustie, its location is excellent, 2 minute walk to the station, the main supermarket, the beach and amazing swing park. breakfast was great with fresh fruit and full cooked breakfasts available

Having friends coming to stay we booked a table in the restaurant 3 days in advance. When the booking was taken I was assured that this was ok. I left a contact telephone number. We arrived at the restaurant on the given day only to be told there was a finction on and we would have to eat in the... More

I tried to book a room by e-mail and phone on a number of occasions without any success at all which was disapointment. Nevertheless we went to eat and the beef was as good as I remembered from last time so all was forgiven.............ish
