Stayed in a self catering caravan here for a few nights, could not believe how peaceful it was! Ate in the restaurant in the evenings, and spent some time in the very friendly bar. Cannot recommend this hotel (and caravans) enough for a very relaxing holiday!

Have stayed at this lovely hotel on several occasions, found the food excellent and the staff really friendly. This is the perfect place to chill out! The views are exceptional and if you are really lucky, you will see dolphins or otters!

Stayed at the Argyll Hotel many of times both in the hotel and the self catering caravans. Loved every minute of it, perfect location as right on the beach.. Both our dogs had a fab time spending the days on the beach. Great service in the hotel.. Meals were delicious and staff were friendly. All in great place.

We were in the area for a charity event, first trip to the area, will def be back. We travelled down to Campbeltown in a motor home, and had experienced an unfriendly hotel, whose manager didn't want to serve us as the van might encourage others !!. Hotel sticky, tacky, yuckey!! Staff friendly, manageress very grumpy. Location and views wonderful. Food good but overpriced. Hotel passed being tired. In need of complete makeover. We won't be back and do not recommend this hotel.

Lovely conservatory/dining room. Evening meal very nice, but priced up as 'Jubilee special' and they ran out of chocolate fudge cake after being open for diners 30mins! Table staff very good. Room 'tired' needs updating quickly but bed very comfortable.

Cooked breakfast: Vegetarian: 1/2 tomato, potato scone, egg. Glutenfree: 1 egg and 1 rasher of bacon. Hair on toast. Smelly bedroom.Tried to charge for items not requested. Grumpy manageress. Metal filings in kettle. Freezing bedroom with a window that did not close properly, even after the management had "fixed" it. Ran out of chicken at wedding meal. Special diet requested... More

location wins hands down, couldn't be bettered. nice staff. Wonderful home made soup - delicious, but pasta dish disappointing. Consistency on previous visits an issue - sometimes good food, sometimes disappointing. So I've rated value for food average - for what may or may not be a good meal. Shame.
