Stayed there a couple of times now, always when I wanted to have long-lasting night parties with friend without having to catch a train home at ridiculously early times. Booking was never an issue (although in my case it is mostly during the week or on the sunday night) at really cheap prices considering the types of room (large double... More

I stayed here on business a couple of times and it ticked all the boxes. I booked late so I do not think I got the biggest rooms, however, the staff were friendly and the rooms were modern but very comfortable and clean. I would recommmend for short stays in the capital.Parking not great so if you have a car stay... More

I've stayed here 3 times now, most recently at the beginning of May, in single rooms on the ground floor and top floor. The rooms are small but adequate and good value. The ground floor room was a bit noisy but understandable given it's on the same floor as reception, the living room and the breakfast room. Breakfast is ok,... More

Myself and two friends shared the triple room on the second floor. We arrived on the early flight and were able to leave our luggage after 09.30, which enabled us to head straight off to explore the city, using the bus which stops on the main road just around the corner. We had no problems checking in around 17.00 and... More

It's actually average for a two or three star hotel. Yes the single room was small and hotel soundproofing not too good, but in fairness everything worked and was spotless clean. Breakfast was, well, average. Staff very good but hotel has a tired feel and to be 4Star you need to be exceptional. Room was slightly cold as big old... More

I stayed at Glenora Hotel in Haymarket, Edinburgh recently for one night by myself. The room was extremely small, but I sort of expected it as it was a single room. (sometimes you get a double room for a single price, if you are lucky. But it didn't happen, and I am not complaining at all...). My complaint is about... More

This is a great hotel and no one who stays anywhere on a regular basis away from home could conclude otherwise . Too many people seem to think that when they stay in any hotel they should be treated like minor royalty as they are on holiday and make the categoric mistake of booking into a good value hotel which... The staff was mostly ok, especially the young american lady who was extremely friendly, very professional and helpful with us throughout. However there were 2 aspects which were a complete turn down: - on the first day, my shower stopped working as I was in the middle of it with shampoo in my hair. My wife called the receptionist, who... More

The version of events relayed by this individual are completely untrue, he has conveniently left out that when he arrived back at the guesthouse after he had already checked out hours earlier he was already in an agitated state and was abusive and rude to the manager he shouted at her on the street when she arrived and asked him... i have stayed at the glenora on a number of occasions now and have found the staff to be very helpful, especially wendy, the manager there. The times we could not have breakfast, due to early buisness commitments, the staff would do us a take away extra early ie bacon/sausage sandwiches, fruit, drinks etc and really went out of there way,which... A great little hotel, just 2 minutes from the train station and bus stop. Single room was small but had everything you need, ensuite shower etc. It was spotlessly clean, fresh smelling. No noise from outside or from other rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this, especially for a late booking when the prices are reduced (whereas... More
