Great lication and bar is fantastic. BUT the noise from the construction makes it almost impossible to sleep. Also i felt like i was bothering the staff if i had a question. Other ppl in my room felt the same. They also wouldn't hold my bags for a night even though i was coming back for another two nights. I... More

This is the best place, as the name says, for backpackers in Edinburgh. The best option if you want value, quality and a great atmosphere. The decoration is fantastic, staff is very friendly. It is in the heart of the city. You won't find a better place to stay in that fantastic city.

Just a few pleasant blocks away from the Edinburgh Waverely Train Station, going west on Princes Street, is the Caledonian Backpackers Hostel. With all the construction as of late (new tram lines) it is a bit confusing to manoeuvre around but with some tenacity you'll be able to find the spot on Queensferry Street. When you step inside you are... More

The location is the worst, and is not that bad. Is a huge hostel with an amazing decoration and really artistic. The bar inside is the best, as well as the kitchen and all the facilities, is incredibly spacious! I was sleeping together with 37 more people and the conditions in the dorm were perfect: light, windows... everything was really... More

This is a good place for < 30 budget travellers. Good location, nice bar inside, big dorms and artistic look and feel. I mostly appreciated nice long talks with people from all over the world, sipping decent whiskies.

I stayed in an all female dorm when I stayed here. Rooms were very vibrant and the beds were comfy. Not enough powerplugs which was annoying but guess thats common in hostels. The breakfast was ok and the computers kept turning off when I was in the middle of using them. The people there were great and the manager was... More

Location isn't that bad, but it's about a 15 min walk to old town where most of the pubs and attractions are. A closer one would be better but for the money it's not that bad. I arrived and it looked funky, cool, great decor, the room looked clean, had a weird smell but bearable. Atmosphere was great, nice people... More

when you arrive in this hostel you start thinking: 'Nice! So cool!'. In fact, its cool, the building is very nice, decorating very stylish, with a great lounge/bar/game room and lots of good-looking-young-people working. BUT, they do not give you bed sheets and you sleep in a very dirty bed. and by dirty I say that they do not know... More

This hostel is clean and big, almost like a maze. It can be hard to meet people as it is big and no organised activities, but I think if you stay longer than 1 or 2 days it is great, like a home. The kitchen is large with an oven, there is a bean bag cinema, large bar area for... More

This is a really fun hostel to stay at. They have a bar which is pretty big and you can meet some cool people. The room was really big, there were about 50 bunk beds, which was a little weird, but they give you a locker. The only downside is that you have to provide your own lock (they sell... More
