Car par looks seedy and unsafe. Buildings all around are boarded up. For a service station the snack bar is a green caravan. The hotel itself is ok once inside and was clean and warm. Location without a car is terrible. I was stuck here with work but if I brought my wife I would expect to be divorced. More

I arrived late at night and at first thought the place had shut down as half of it has been boarded up with what I'm guessing is some sort of "anti vandal" boarding. Most of the lights outside are blown which means the front entrance was dark and unviting. Friendly welcome, it's not the staff's fault this place is such... More

We stayed in this Travelodge in April 2012, as there was no availability in the Edinburgh city centre hotels. We booked two family rooms and found them to be very clean & quite large compared to some of the newer Travelodge's. The location was fine for what we wanted, a bed for the night while we travelled into Edinburgh by... More

We stayed as a family of 4 for 3 nights over the Easter break. We booked this hotel as it was a lot cheaper than mid town Edinburgh hotels. The location was good, it had free car parking ( a big plus as it could cost up to £22 per day in the city), and there was a mainline station... More

This is the second time, in about six months, that we have stayed here. The rooms are a little tired, but the clean and comfortable bedding and bathroom makes up for it, as does the lovely lady on reception who greeted us with a smile, at 11pm! and gave us extra towels and pillows. She was really nice and nothing... More

We have now had two visits to this Travelodge and have been pleased both times. It is a quiet hotel. Both times we have had excellent service from the staff. Yes it is a bit in the back of beyond but if you have a car then there is no problem. We go down the A1 one junction to Craig... More

We arrived having booked this online to what looked liked something out of a run down housing estate! Corrugated iron over windows and the only thing missing was the shouts of the lager louts on "Shameless"! WE walked into reception and were greeted by a friendly chap who actually changed my mind about the place. Had he not been so... More

Decided to stay here while visiting the university. It is a twenty minute walk from any public transport and a good 40 minutes from Musselburgh town. First impressions are rather poor. You pull into a dirty car park and gaze upon a large building with 2/3 of the building boarded up. Old signage suggests a burger king was here at... More

The hotel is a bit tired and run down and I know a lot of people are put of by the boarded up building next door. We have stayed here before last year so was aware of the surroudings. It is good value for the money we paid and we found the room and bathroom clean with plenty towels. We... More
