I actually stayed at the Fairholme Guest House in November of 1996 (not available in the drop down menu). I was traveling alone for two weeks around the UK and added Edinburgh as a last minute stop. My stay was only two nights and I wish I'd stayed longer because of the city and because these were the best accommodations... More

The accomodation was booked last minute for a shopping weekend. Although we did not set out looking for any thing special, we certainly found it with the Fairholme Guest House. Both Douglas and Barbara are two of the most hospitable people you could wish to stay with and the Guest House is perfect. (also recommend the cooked breakfast) The location... More

Every year we go up to Edinburgh for the weekend before Christmas and every year I don't get any sleep because it's such a noisy place. However, Fairholme B&B is blissfully quiet! Far enough away from the main road so you can't hear the traffic, or the trains, and no drunks wandering up the street in the night! It is... More

Stayed at this guest house for 4 nights during the final week of the Edinburgh Festival and booked over the phone through Tourist Information (a must if you want to avoid ending up in one of Edinburgh's hovels that pass themselves off as guest houses). Had a very comfortable stay - My partner and I were in room 5, which... More

I just spent 3 days at the Fairholme Guest House in Edinburgh. My friend and I had a wonderful time. The B&B was a quick bus ride and a short walk through a pretty suburb. I really like that it was close to the main road but still out of the way. The room was bright and clean. And the... More

I was looking for B&B in Edynburgh via internet and finaly I have found a Fairholme Guest House. It is a nice peaceful place to living. It is only 1/2 an hour walk from centre to the house. I spent 2 nights on the 1/2 May 2007 and I have never eaten such delicious porridge in my life which were... More

We stayed three nights during July just before Festival week. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet with a beautiful view of the garden and the neighborhood. Everything worked, and the room was spotless and nicely furnished. Breakfast was ample and varied with lots of options and choices. The breakfast room is located in the... More

We found the Fairholme Guest House online, but what the advertisement didn't say is that we would be locked out of the home when we arrived. The proprietor apparently went to the doctor and didn't leave us a note or a key and so we stood outside in the rain for about 30 minutes until one of the other guests... More

We are so disappointed that our guest did not enjoy their visit to us in Edinburgh, however there are a number of inaccuracies in the comments, which deserve clarification so that a clearer understanding may be gained. The guest advised us by e-mail that they would be arriving in Edinburgh at 9.30 am, on the basis of this information, we... More
