Although we only stayed one night, we will make this our first choice hotel when we return to Edinburgh without doubt. I was expecting a clean hotel with minimum cheer. How lovely then to find that the rooms had all been decorated and were spotless. The bathroom was clean and modern and the restaurant was of a very high quality and... More

I have stayed in the RO-SL every year for several years; it is always a haven of comfort and warmth. The view of the castle and Princes street gardens is stunning. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is peerless in their attentiveness and effiiency. The team is making a determined effort to make even more improvements; and it is good... More

In the couple of years since I stayed here last, ROSL has been refreshed and a new team have taken over the restaurant. There's still the sense that you are staying in a private club (though it is open to all) but the welcome is warm and the service charming. Rooms are simply decorated but clean and comfortable, and there's... More

Enjoyed two great nights in ROSL Edinburgh. Staff were excellent, room had an uninterrupted view of the castle, the food in the restaurant is first class. Very relaxing and highly recommended. More

Was on the internet searching every where, so many choices. I chose the overseas hotel for the location and the view. Building needs some decoration done to it but food, staff, bedroom were great! Would recommend to anybody staying in edinburgh More

A very enjoyabe stay. We have been to Edinburgh many times but never stayed here before. Very friendly and helpful staff - even the new night porter who was on his first night at the hotel. Lovely breakfast served by cheerful staff made a pleasant start to the day. Will certainly be back. More

This hotel is situated in the heart of the shopping area. Edinburgh is a relatively small city and easy to find your way around. We stayed in room no 1 on 3rd floor with view to the backyard. Quite OK for us. Room no 1 is a lot bigger than i.e. room no 6 on the same floor also with... More

And for the price we paid on a Monday night- Bargain!! would reccomend for Scottish and tourists alike. Best for the location. The only negative is we never had a castle view:-( More

We booked this place on line as we were looking for city centre location, we certainly got that plus lots more , the view to die for , bar and restaurant over looking Edinburgh castle, plus the garden opposite was all lit up for Christmas. We were fortunate to have a suite with the view . Food was excellent especially... More
