Stayed here for 1 night friendly welcome on reception with helpful staff. The room was large and the beds were comfy. A hearty breakfast set us on our way the next morning although the haggis had been fried to within an inch of its life!!! Would definitely recommend to others and stay again ourselves.

I have stayed at Hotel Kelvin every three years over a period of 49 years. The hotel has had three owners over this period. During this long time the hotel has maintained an excellent standard of service and comfort. The hotel is located in an excellent area of Glasgow with good transport available.

Nice hotel, nice staff, nice rooms and a nice breakfast. I don't think I want much else from a hotel. Lots of great bars and restaurants close by and even a walk into the city would only take half an hour(ish) if you wanted to use your legs. Easy on street parking close by which is a real bonus. Didn't... More

The building it self is of good standard, the bedroom that we were in was done on the cheep, a double room with 2 singles pushed together, the shower still had the hair of the previous occupant of the room, the curtains were to narrow and thin enough to keep the bedroom awash with light, on the plus side, the... Stayed one night when visiting someone at Glasgow University and I seem to have had a very different experience from other recent reviewers. From the moment I called to book the room the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was spotless. The room was quiet, breakfast was good and... More

My mum and I were on a one night stop to Glasgow. We picked the Kelvingrove as it looked like a nice place. But I was so disappointed!:( We arrived late, at around 9:50 after having been called by the Hotel to tell us that they close front of house at 10 (that part was useful). The en-suite bathroom was... I am sorry your stay at the Kelvingrove was not as good as you had expected, please accept our apologies. However we do feel that your remarks about "NO STAR" are inappropriate and unneccessary and quite hurtful as all our staff do an excellent job in looking after our hotels. All our establishments are regularly checked by professional hotel inspectors... More

We arrived and got a room with an uncomfortable squeaky bed and tiny shower. One of us spilled a glass of water on the carpet and when cleaning it up, the towel we used was then absolutely covered in dirt (shows how clean the carpet was).. We were on a ground floor room next to the kitchen and at 7:30am... More

We are sorry that you were disappointed in your stay at the Kelvingrove. This is the first complaint we have had about the bed in Rm3, Mr McQuade Snr (Chairman) has tested the bed himself, his approximate weight is around the 19 stone mark, he found no problems with the bed at all. Our carpets are shampooed on a weekly... More

We chose this hotel as it was a short distance from Yorkhill Children's Hospital where our wee boy was to undergo an operation. We were greeted by a really pleasant and helpful gentleman on reception who carried our bag and showed us to our room on arrival. We had a family room which was really spacious, saniflo system was quite... More

Stayed here at the weekend as an anniversary treat, we were met with a refreshingly warm welcome, check in was efficient and then we were shown to our room. we had a room on the lower ground floor, which was bright and looked freshly decorated and above all was clean.
