Perfectly satisfactory hotel, the rooms were clean, the service was ok. It was just a base for our Glaswegian adventure. I wouldn't recommend walking here from the city centre, as I discovered, but the taxi fares are quite cheap. My only issue is we booked online for three people and the room was definitely set out for more than two... More

I do agree with other reviews that the website photos don't tell the story, however don't be put off by the external shabbiness. We had 3 rooms on the top floor, a family room, twin room and double room. They were all spacious and clean with modern furniture. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good with 2... More

Having been shown my room on check in, not only was there a stench in the unvacuumed room, but the walls were scuffed beyond general wear and tear. Don't bother staying here. The excuses I got from management upon my complaint were totally unacceptable too, thus suming up the total experience. More

Stayed there with a group of friends. On arrival told to go through door to check in area... no one there waited ages then same guy behind the bar came and eventually got us our room keys. Nearly roasted alive with the heat on the stairs. Rooms roasting hot as well first thing we did was open all the windows... More

I stayed in Room No 7. Getting straight to the point - on going into the room there was an over powering smell of sweaty men and bad toilet odours. I opened all windows as much as possible but the room still smelt. The tiles in the bathroom were never wiped there was loads of pubic hair on the wall... More

Went to the hotel to stay for a night. Have been a few times for dinner etc and thought it was a lovely place to stay as I had a night out in shawlands. The room itself and most hotel staff were very friendly and very nice. Food there is beautiful. However I returned late from my nightout (around 3am)... More

If you can look beyond the shabby exterior/interior (refurbishment starting July 2011) you will experience only warmth, friendliness and excellent service from the staff - they were fantastic. We can only compliment the cheff on his excellent food, a breakfast to set you up for the week, never mind a day!! Al la carte menu was superb and cheff outstanding.... More

Well what can I say .... this hotel may not be the ritz but the staff more than make up for any short falls. The room we had was very large and had a massive bath room - a little tired in places but more that worth the room rates. We had breakfast both mornings and was a good start... More
