I used to visit the Boswell all the time...hadn't been in a while, was meeting friends for a drink and decided to pop in...NEVER AGAIN! The bar was pretty empty and there were only two staff on for the whole bar and restaurant. Waited ages to get served. The staff were moving at a snails pace. Eventually got served, I... More

We stayed at this hotel in february and thought that although it was basic it was all we really needed. Myself and two friends booked this hotel again to be near the stadium for a concert and I must state that that the rooms were as basic as ever - no soap or hairdryer, but again handy for the stadium.... Went for lunch on 30th April 2011. Ordered 2 pizzas and chips with friends. One pizza uncooked, even after sending it back once. Raw pizza dough not appealing. Chips even worse, arrived with a hair in them. No extra charge for this service. Shocking attitude when returned pizza for 2nd time. Neither apologised or offered alternative choice. Took it as... We needed accommodation for the Paul McCartney gig and booked in here-£60 b&b for 2. Ok so it's not a country house hotel but it's clean, quiet and comfortable. The new owner was lovely and whilst they haven't been able to restore it to it's full potential, they've clearly given the bedrooms a luck of paint as an interim measure.... More

Our room was ok and reasonably spacious - it had been recently painted, but had been done in a rush and it was very rough around the edges (windows and bathroom doors wouldn't open or shut with ease, top of the tv and sockets and edges of the carpet all had paint on the them ) - this is a... More

I and three friends stayed at this hotel as it's near Hampden Park and we were attending a concert. The location was great - about a 20 minute walk, but the hotel needs some money spent on it. Our room had been decorated on the cheap - windows wouldn't close, tatty carpets, second hand wardrobes. The worst thing was that... More

My husband & I stayed in the Boswell for 2 nights with 8 other family members due to a family bereavement, while there are teething problems (new owners only took over 3wks prior to our stay) the staff were so friendly & helpful, the bedrooms that have been refurbished are lovely & those that have yet to be done were... rooms very shabby and even at 40 for single room over-priced. damaged windows, broken mirror, single duvet inside double cover. poor tea making fascilities. bathroom dirty, room generally grubby. do yourself a favour and find somewhere else. there other places nearby roughly same price but better than this dump. if you are expceting 3 star no chance 2 at most. After a brief hicup over the rooms the manager excelled himself in making sure my family were comfortable. We had oraiginally booked in at the Ewington and they messed the booking up so we were given this hotel instead at the last minute so the rooms were not all good, but the manager sorted it Some rooms are much better than...
