The Bilbster House was a wonderful surprise, our favorite B&B in Scotland. Once you find it, the driveway goes through a working farm and past it's barns, to the Bilbster House beyond. The host, Ian Stewart, graciously spent quite some time explaining the Caithness area and talking about things to do and places to eat. Our room was extremely large... More

Bilbster House was my first experience of a Bed and Breakfast in Scotland and was one of the best. A seperate lounge to watch TV or have a chat, great breakfasts and most of all Ian's effort to ensuring everyone had a comfortable stay was most appreciated by me and my relations. Ian is very knowledgeable about Caithness. And if... More

I read a review somewhere that descibed this house as something out of Wooster and Jeeves. That's about right. The rooms are lovely and the immediate grounds are gorgeous. Food is great and Mr Ian Stewart does a good breakfast. Also, they have some of the nicer bathrooms we found during our whole trip if you care about that sort... More

Do NOT be put off this place by the dodgy web-site. Ian and his family are absolutely lovely. (We completely fell in love with 'the boys'!) The house is truly amazing, very clean with good facilities in a lovely location. (Wick is not worth staying in). Our host gave us a heap of very useful information about what to see... More

This is a very nice house built in the 1600's, Ian was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were very pleasant and clean and the surrounding garden was a delight. The house is easy to find if you just look for the trees on the right side if you are going out of Wick toward Thurso. They... More

I Loved this place! Ian and his delightful boys (I didn't meet his wife) made my stay very comfortable. Surely the place looks a bit faded when you first drive up, but the welcome is warm, the assistance is fabulous, the furnishing cozy and breakfast was perfect. And I had a bath tub, which was heaven after a day getting... More

We stayed for one night in Bilbster House on a jaunt from Land's End to John O'Groats (by car!) and found it fascinating. It wasn't well-signed from the road - about 5 miles out of Wick - but we did find it after passing through a farmyard. The initial impression of the house and large garden was of a slightly... More
