Family meal for 8, starter fine but main meals dismal, only 6-8 chips per plate and they weren't that thick cut. Only good thing was when I complained, more chips were brought to the table. Salad served with the main course was soggy with the dressing used - looked more like a "stir fry". Not much choice of sweet/ puddings.... More

Myself and my wife booked this hotel at the last minute through Classic Britain. For £70 D.B.B, we couldn't really argue with the price. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very pleasent. Upon entering our room, the smoke alarm was faulty. The reception was contacted, where they sent someone from the kitchen? To cut a story short, we had to move... More

Reasonable standard of hotel located about a 15 minute walk from the city centre. I paid (on line) £48 for a ground floor twin room and really have no complaints. I stayed for one night in order to break the journey between Newcastle and the Scottish Highlands. Check in (and out) was very quick and efficient. The room was long... More

Dear arabchris225, Many thanks for your recent review on trip advisor. I have maintenance on the case to look at making the window more secure - we like our customers to tell all preferably on checkout, however through other means is fine also. It was also good to read your positive comments - haggis at breakfast time is not a... More

First they wanted to give me a horrible small and dark room which basically looked out on an internal concrete wall, when I asked to be moved they made me pay for the privilege of a 'proper room' - which was not clean and tired looking. I had dinner in the restaurant which started well with a delicious soup and... More

Dear 8-bermard-8, Thank you for your review which you posted recently. I am disappointed that the room initially allocated did not meet your expectation, and also the second fell short also. Please be assured that I am making every effort to drive standards at the Lovat Hotel - this includes refurbishing bedrooms and public areas. I am heartened that your... More

Dear DrDave Scotland, Many thanks for your review on T.A. - glad to see that you were looked after well. We are embarking on a refurbishment program - less than half of the rooms to do. I hope you will keep on visiting to see the progress being made. Many thanks Mike Sheffield More

When booking this hotel I looked at the website to look at the pictures of the hotel because I am not a fan of the older looking hotels and with the pictures it made the hotel look modem and stylish. The day we arrived in Perth after 6 hours on the train, we took a taxi and arrived at the... More

We stayed at this hotel as a stopover on a lengthy journey back from John O' Groats to Cambridge. As such, our expectations were not particularly significant as we were simply after somewhere clean and functional close to Perth train station. Whilst in some respects the hotel was perfectly adequate, for the price we paid and the expectations we were... More

We booked the hotel, for three nights when we were going to T in the Park. We paid £90.00 per night bed and breakfast. The room looked like something out of the late 1980's, all chintz and flowery wall paper. Our request for a double bed had been ignored and we were not even advised at check in so we... More
