The hotel was very central on Islay making it ideal for sightseeing. The local bus stops right outside. There is a little shop across the road that literally stocks everything you could need. One of our party needed a special battery for his camera - and yes, they had it! The service at the hotel was well above average. I... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April, 2012. Charlotte and Rasa were so welcoming and took the time to answer our many questions. Our room was well appointed, the wifi worked, the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed coming back for tea and a late lunch after a day of sightseeing. The cozy sofas near the... More

Clean, cosy room, wonderful food with a lovely dining room and garden. However what really made this hotel such an enjoyable place to stay was the friendly and welcoming attitude of all the staff. They went out of their way to accommodate the needs of our baby daughter and subsequently we had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay. Would definitely... More

I spent 6 nights as a solo traveller at the Bridgend Hotel. If you're going to stay anywhere that long and keep your sanity then it has to be really good. The Bridgend Hotel was everything I could have hoped for: a very clean and comfortable room, a wonderfully comfortable bed, great food, calm atmosphere and, above all, excellent staff.... More

We recently spent 4 nights at the Bridgend Hotel on Islay and we were delighted with our stay. The hotel is centrally located on Islay, so that one can reach all points of interest (aka. distilleries) of the island in optimal time. Yet, this geographically central location is in a really quiet area, so noise is not an issue in... More

We have just had the most fabulous welcome at this hotel when we went for a meal. The food was fantastic! But most importantly was the service which was just wonderful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. More

Back again for a lunch and a dinner and the whole family enjoyed it. We were able to sit outside in the lovely garden. Service very friendly and again was the best vegetarian meal of our Islay week. More

Puts hotels on the mainland to shame, rooms really nice and bed Oh so comfortable, food wonderful, and the welcome was great. As Arnie would say, " I'll be back." It was business this time, but it will be for pleasure the next time. Who needs a fitness centre when you have the walks. Liz P More

3rd fantastic stay at this hotel run by Lorna and ably assisted by Willie, Irene. Iain, Charlotte and the rest of the wonderful staff. Rooms are exceptional. Heat would kill you. We had a party of 9 shooting woodcock and chef cooked them "whole" for a starter one evening. Fantastic dinner and breakfast menus and picnic lunch included hot game... More
