I stayed at the Maldron in Cork for one night in May 2013. It was very reasonably priced and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious but like the rest of the hotel could do with a little TLC. Parking is very tight and if the hotel is busy can be difficult. There is a pool but... More

Stayed just 1 night recently at the Maldron Hotel in Cork city centre and have to say like all the Maldron hotels I have stayed in around the country their Cork base is also of super quality and value for money. The location is excellent for walking in and out of the main shopping district in Cork and is two... More

We arrived early and they found us a room right away. We rejected it because the previous occupants had obviously been smoking there but the staff accepted our views immediately and worked hard to find us another room - at 8am! The food is good although the drinks are a bit pricey. breakfast was fresh and replensihed often with a... More

This Hotel was situated up a slight incline close to the City centre. First impression was a very old hotel that could do wit painting. the receptionist was very pleasant and handed us the room key, this was when things started to go downhill. The room was tiny, very claustrophobic the window was so high up that you had to... More

Centrally located small hotel in Cork City. Overall very pleasant stay in Maldron Hotel. Decor a little tired and could do with a makeover, this hotel never the less provided first class service. Excellent food. Very pleasant and helpful staff. It is situated a couple of minutes walk from the lively shopping and entertainment center, the Cork Opera House being... More

Ideally located for pottering about in Cork. Shoppers can pop back & forth if shopping bags get too numerous or bulky. A lick of paint here & there would not go astray in some places to spruce up the decor. The layout suffers because the building was obviously originally designed for another purpose but all in all it is a... More

I've just arrived, and I've seen better, but thought I'd share my first impressions. No.1, no where to park. The website said free parking, although I've since learned that it's first come first served, so I'm in the multi story for €5/night (5pm to 10am), which will have to do. Ironic though, as I mainly picked this hotel as it... More

I agree with some of the other posters that it could do with a bit of a refurb. but I did not experience any problems with the staff or management. It is ideally situated for a short walk into the city centre, albeit uphill on the way back and all that it has to offer. If I was going back... More
