I was slightly worried about what we would find when we drove up to this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised by what we found on the inside. We had a lovely, clean room. The wifi worked great, and it was an easy walk to/from town. The only drawback was the breakfast, included in our rate, but it mainly had... More

• Shower not working • Old tv, bad signal • Room was very far from reception • Lift very jumpy • Iron not working • Phone in room not working, had to walk all the way to reception with any problems We were transfered to another room to next morning to have a shower, I was disgusted with the state... I stayed here just one night for work. The hotel is in an ok location - on a hill overlooking the city - it's probably 10-15mins walk to the city centre. There is good parking and the staff were nice and friendly. But the hotel is old (part of it's charm perhaps - it's a converted military hospital originally) and... More

I reviewed this hotel after a night stop over last December - for which the management replied that my opinions were "fair and balanced". On this occasion the hotel was booked up and I had a less salubrious room - at the back overlooking the bins and a wall. However it was quirky, and as I was in Cork to... More

The building itself is very old and a bit on the worn side. Rooms were very clean. You are a short walking distance from the downtown area and about a 15 minute ride from Castle Blarney. My stay wasn't unpleasant but I would probably look for another location. The restaurant was OK.

The room/bed were fine. Nothing special, but not bad. The hotel itself looks like it is pretty run down, and while only a short 10 minute walk from downtown, the neighborhood seemed sketchy. Great value if you book online and pay in advance, we paid about 50 euro for one night and at that price it is definitely a good... More

Our usual room has had the curtains changed and some other cosmetic improvements. Love the hotel, love the view, love the staff and service, even the hill does you good. But there are always buses and taxis available in the city to bring you back if you so desire. Thanks to Chris Crowley and staff for the excellent time we... More

Other than the view, which is great, because the hotel is on a hill above Cork, I wouldn't necessarily stay here again. The curtains were shabby, the food in the dining room was not good at all. When we first got to the room we noticed it smelled like smoke-the room did have a sign on it showin it was... More
