Stayed here 2 nights with friends. Nice staff, surprisingly clean rooms, warm showers. A little bit too far from the center, but otherwise very okay. First hostel where I stayed in Ireland. Really good one!

Don't rely on the Sat Nav co-ordinates in the 2012 YH brochure - they are wrong for this hostel (and the Bluestack Hostel). Hostel was fine - but expensive for a single room - 30 euro. Plus 2 euro per half hour for wifi - and 5 euro for breakfast - makes it an expensive hostel.... Everything was very clean,... More

At some point and in some places, one will feel that one is getting too old to stay in youth hostels. This place is one of them. Placed on a higher floor, we were faced with quite a lot of stairs at the Cork International Hostel, and this is a point to consider when making a reservation. It's no fun... More

Want to have fun in Cork? Stay somewhere else! The staff are Really Conservative and frown on people of opposite genders getting together. In addition it's got an institutional feel that makes you feel like you're in hospital rather than on holiday. It's almost a mile from the centre of town and there are cheaper places closer by.

This is a nice hostel. One of the first things I noticed was its setting and front yard, which is peaceful and relaxing. The bedrooms are nice. Mine had plenty of open space and windows. I could see people on picnic table and green grass enjoying an outdoor lunch. The front desk helpful. The receptionist helped me with parking. My... More

At 13 euros a night & an excellent full Irish Breakfast for 4 euro's you could not ask for more. We found this hostel clean & friendly & would definitely stay again. I am very surprised by some of the not so positive reviews on here as we cannot praise it highly enough !

Despite cctv and a monitor in the office our hire car was robbed. Backs on to a dark roadway/back lane. Gates are not shut at night. Theft is common in Ireland, beware.

This place needs to change for the better! Obviously the place was on sale when we stayed there. And you could feel it, too. The owners didn't seem to care about the hostel AT ALL. The kitchen for guests was DISGUSTING and all the devices were too old. One day the hostel staff emptied the fridge without a warning. We... More

I loved the fact that the bunks were very secure and hence didn't squeak or move. I also liked getting my clean sheets handed to me. Thumbs up too for card access to the room. I hated the shower as I had to keep pressing the push button and it only stayed on for a couple of seconds. The kitchen... More

The hostel was chosen on the bus going from Kilkenny to Cork, as an overnight stay had not been planned. It is a good walk from the bus terminal, but it was possible to call in advance to check room/ bed availabilities. At our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised; staff welcomed us and we were given clean sheets for our... More
