Stayed 3 nights, staff answered all of our many questions on restaurants, laundry service, etc. It was nice to have our laundry sent out by the hotel and returned the same day. Interesting building with a history, decorated very nicely, clean and comfy room. The sink taps and toilet were hard to work, kind of a pain to use each...

We had a lovely four-night stay in Scholars Townhouse. The first two days were mostly recovering from jet-lag, but we were very comfortable, and totally ready to go when we left Drogheda. Be sure to have the chicken pie for dinner. Breakfasts are everything you could ask for, and the service is great.

This hotel is nicely maintained. While everything is clean and shiny, there is a pleasant local vibe and a comforting old-fashioned quality to the place. The bar is good to sit in and the restaurant is above average and popular. Some good wine selections by the glass, though not champagne when we were there. There is a lift for wheelchairs.

Visited Scholars for a Saturday night out with friends. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. About 60 euro a head after all was said and done. It's a beautiful property, and we hope to stay at the hotel on our next visit.

Everything was great (eg food, service, decor) except the rooms are small, poorly fitted and a bit dingy. There was no bath, the beds and pillows were hard and you get neck ache trying to watch the TV. Even the 'Presidential Suite' was made up of small rooms in the same style. Its a shame that they are restricted by...
