we came here for Easter with two young children. The site itself is well landscaped, the facilities are clean, the owners are friendly and welcoming and we felt it was a very safe environment for the kids to play in. I have posted a review in 2010,and my recommendations have not changed.It is now the beginning of 2012 and can't wait to get back to this site----our favourite in Ireland.Have been back quite a few times in 2011,and loved every minute.So Alex and Rab the Gypsy Rovers will be with you soon.Cheers Mary Doherty

The campsite is situated a few miles from civilisation which makes it ideal for that bit of remoteness you need when you go camping... but it is still close to places like Castlebar, Westport and the Mulranney/Newport cycle way. i,m not too sure about carrowkeel , while it has some good points it also has many faults the first impression on check in was very annoying , i arraived at 3pm and opened the door to reception and a short buzzer went off , no problem there the next i new this tall man came out with attitude pointed... We would highly recommend this Caravan Park.We have stayed a few times only negative point it takes us four hours to drive there.We live in Co.Derry.Going back in July.Alex is so helpful and friendly.The area ouses of peacefulness but within easy reach of Castlebar,Knock&Achill Island.Have made many friends here.
